The two men four miles from Cheanee near the state line while Hicks was hunting. Cinder ft red three pistol shots at Hicka, all misses, and then Hicks shot Linder in the neck and left shoulder with both barrels of a shot gun. Linder went to the Guffney hospital^ and Hicks was not arrested, The influenza report for t South Carolina, just announced, shows an increase of reported cases over the previous week of 3,047, a jump front 5,146 to 8,103. The cases reported are believed to be one-fifth to one-1 tenth of the cases occurring and not reported by attending physicians, most of them not going to a doctor.
