Wolfe, the Attorney General, iu a letter to the foremen of grand juries of the several counties of the State, calls to their at tention certain tspscittc duties devolved upon grand jurymen*. They are to in vestigate county offices, and present of fenders against the law and calls at tention to the law regulating the em ployment of females iu mercantile es tablishments. The eloction today has no legal status. It was merely for gaining an estimate 't*f the sentiment of the people on the permanent highway system. A bill has been prepared authorizing the issue to bo presented to the nert session of the (Jeneral Assembly, which undoubtedly will pass it.
