Shannon, the Chapter' was deprived, not only of ber presence ? always a niost wel come one ? but also of the enjoy ment of her paper on the study of the evening:, "Laurens and King Btree^s; Henry and John Laurens; King George III." From the his torical scrap book , however, a short Sketch of John Laurens was found and read by. Mre. Jno. Cantey, which proved interesting, as did al io a- number of items read by the Hegent on the life and character Df Henry Laurens. The well arranged literary and musical program included one of Lo d Byron's poems, "Fare thee well", which was impressively re cited by Mrs. S. A. Wlttkowsky. Then, two delightful instrumental duets were given by Misses Good-' ale and Williams, which were bright and inspiring and altogether enjoy able. And loiter on, two lovely Bongp by Mrs. L: T.
