An amusing story is being told of a clergyman who was being entertained over a -week-end by one of the well-to do but plain men of a Lancashire town not tar from Manchester. Investigating Lightning Bug. | Two investigators and writers in j the Lightning Journal have given the i result of their efforts to measure tho I caudle power of the lightning bug. The glow worm, which is the larvae j of the firefly, was found to give off an illumination equal to .0018 candle pow er to the square centimeter. Tho flash of the firefly is probably many fold, perhaps 50 or 100-fold, f\s bright ? as the steady glow of the larva.
