Queen entertained the "Weekly Contract Bridge Club" at their home on Broad Street. Three tables were arranged in the living room which was bright with spring flowers. Mrs. S. W. VanLandingham and Hubert Wilson were winners of high score prizes. Floyd Beaver cut consolation. A salad course with cakes, sand wiches, and tea was served. MR. AND MRS. HUGHEY TINDAL ENTERTAIN. The Thursday evening bridge club was entertained this week by Mr. & Mrs. Hugihey Tindal. A delightful course dinner was served before the game to the following members: Mr. & Mrs. Alfred McLeod, Mr. & Mrs. Joe Guthrie, Mr. & Mrs. Henry Beard, and Mr. & Mrs. Tindal. High score was made by Mrs. Tindal. MISS LILLIAN ABBOTT OF BIRMINGHAM HONORED. MLas Mary Goodale entertained at bridge, Friday evening for her cousin Miflft LilKan Abbott. The living room where the tables were arranged was very attractive With pink sweet peas and snapdragons*. The guest of honor was presented with a shoulder corsage. .The ladies prize, lovely handkerchiefs was won by Miss Ab fcott. Men's prize, a carton of cigar- ' states was won by Edwiard Wooten. A sweet course with coffee was served to the following guests: - Catherine Boykin, Betty Cureton, Willie Haile, < Nell Goodale, Tootsie Houser and Lil Han Abbott, Walter Wooten, Edward Wooten, Charlie DeLoache, Lav/son Bateman Shell Sheorn/ and Gordon Guthrie. Miss Kit DeLoache assisted Miss Goodale in entertaining. MR8. D. M. DAVIE GOES TO NEW YORK Mrs. D. M. Davis, of the Camden Beauty Parlor left Sunday for New York to attend the International Beauty Show at the Pennsylvania ho stel, March 15 ? 18th, Mrs. Davis will study New Scientific Methods of per ? manent waving and the latest styles of coiffures. Most of her tme will be aypent at Frederics Inc., creators of the Frederic Vita-Tonic Process of Permanent Waving. She will be | ? away a week. M. M. Reasonover, post commander pre sided. Mrs. A. Sam Karesh, presi dent of the Auxiliary brought greet ings to all present. Miss Charlotte Salmond, a gifted soprano sang and the Arnold Brothers added much to the Musical program with their play ing and singinff. Children from the grammar school under the direction of Misses Ger trude Zemp and Mary Cureton gave 2 attractive dances ? the first a sailors horn-pipe dance and the other a pi rates dance. Substituting in the place of Hon. Roach Stewart, a well known attor ney and orator of Lancaster. Rev. J. B. Caston of the First Baptist Churph delivered a very interesting and informal talk on George Wash ington. A talk that every one present enjoyed and appreciated. .After the program the ladies of the Auxiliary served delicious fruit punch with red, white and blue cakes.
