Washington, Nov. 2.?The Seattle Destruction and Dry Dock company as the ouly concern to submit a dlict proposal Wednesday for construcon of one of the four swift scout 'ulsers authorized as a part of the >17 naval building program. The limit of cost for the mill and achinery of ships was fixed at $5,K),000. The Seattle company proposed > construct one ship within 30 dnys r $4,075,000. The Fore River Shipbuilding coriralon, Quincy, Mass., was the only her company to submit figures. Tills i :?n i.v proposed to build one bunt i 33 months and one in 30 months at cost of $4,000,000 each, but in each ise the company based its proposal Hon the acceptance by the navy defirtment of a plan under which any actuation in the current prices of interial and labor would be figured ito the cost of the ship.
