Very little of the 1 household goods was saved-tlie flames 1 having gained such headway before being discovered. Mr. and Mrs. Belk were asleep and were awakened by f the cries of the lieople rushing to the tin. This house was built a few years . ago by Mr. Peters and was a handsome eonvelent home. We understand : that Mr. Belk had only a small amount of insurance 011 the building and none on the household goods. ! * * * IT'S PRETTY COLD. Ilns tori lug. magistrate at Olyinpia. d'ed very suddenly yesterday afternoon about o'clock at his residence, 1401 Lower street. He was serving his second term as magistrate. He was OS years of age. Members of the Columbia bar who practiced in his court held him in high regard For the last few days Magistrate Fosterling had been unwell but none of his family considered him seriously ill and he was able to attend to the duties of his office yesterday. His death yesterday afternoon was a great shock to his family and friends in Olypia and in Columbia. Magistrate Easterling was a native of Marlboro county. For a time he was deputy sheriff of Marlboro. He was twice elected magistrate Olympia.
