Mr. and Mrs. Mike Campbell and family of Cayce were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Adams, Sunday. Mrs. Gene Floyd and children of Greenwood spent Saturday with Mrs. Annie Mae Caughman. Recently Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Bearden visited Sgt. and Mrs. C. F. Bearden and family in Aiken. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Gilbert and children of Spartanburg were Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. David Owens. Mrs. Vera Bellue and daughter, Annette, were in Whitmire sev eral days last week with her mo ther, Mrs. Cephie Burch, who was seriously ill. Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Laney visited Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Fow- ler in Cornaco, Sunday. Mrs. Katherine McQuag and daughters and Mr. Ted Cranford and sons of Summersville spent the weekend with Mrs. FredShel- ton. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Henry Carson ofMonchs Corners also visited. Beanie Hast of Cedar Spring School for the Deaf in Spartan burg spent the weekend with Pat Wilkes. WITH THE SICK Mrs. James Craine is improv ing after being ill with the flu. Mrs. Raye Simmons is a pa tient at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood. Ricky Burroughs is sick with the flu. Mrs. Claude Farmer returned home last week from Bailey Me morial Hospital where she was a patient for a week. Mrs. Glenda Dominick is sick at home. Mrs. Georgia Trammell and Mrs. Troy Todd are amongthose ill with flu. Mrs. Talmadge Sanders en tered Bailey Memorial Hospital on Monday and underwent surgery on Tuesday. Mrs. Ruth Leopard remains ill at her home. James Austin Wells of Rock Hill, formerly of Clinton passed away last Friday. Services were conducted at Green Mortuary in Rock Hill on Sunday. Among the survivors are his son, James Ernest Wells and three grandsons, Jerry Wayne Coker, Jackie and Jimmy Wells all of Clinton. BIRTHDAY PARTY At two o’clock on Saturday evening, Feb. 7, Mrs. Alice Prince gave her daughter, Glynis, a party in honor of her fourth birthday at their home near Clin ton. A Valentine theme for the party was enjoyed by 30 boys and girls present. Party games were played. A heart shaped birthday cake and assortments of candies, chips and ice cream were served. Glynis received a lot of nice gifts. Out of town guests included Frances Hudson of Hartsville, S. C.; Linda Peak of Winnsboro; and also Mrs. Ada Goff, Glynis’s grandmother of Winnsboro. CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY On Saturday evening, Feb. 7, at 3:30 Mrs. Clifton Heaton gave her daughter a party in honor of her ninth birthday. About 20 boys and girls enjoyed playing games. Refreshments consisting of ice cream, candy, cup cakes, and kool-aid were served by Mrs. Heaton assisted by Mrs. Barbara Wells and Mrs. Carrie Quinn. R udell gifts. received many nice BIRTHDAY PARTY Mrs. Alice Faye Beaman honored her son, Brian, with a birthday party on Saturday even ing, Feb. 7, at three o’clock at their home on Davis Street. Brian was celebrating his 10th birthday. Games and refreshments were enjoyed by 21 boys and gjrls pre sent. Each one remembered Brian with a nice gift. CIRCLE MEETING The Harrit King Circle met at the home of Mrs. Irene Adams on Feb. 3rd, with nine ladies present. The meeting was opened with prayer by Mrs. James Huey. After a business session, the meeting was adjourned by Mrs. Bea Hardman. Mrs. Adams served refresh ments. BIRTHS WILKES Mr. and Mrs. Boyd “Buddy" Wilkes Jr. announced the birth of a daughter, Julie Ann, on Feb. 8 at Bailey Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Wilkes is the former Miss Judy Satterfield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walker Satterfield. Mr. Wilkes is presently serving a tour of duty in V ietnam. TAYLOR Mr. and Mrs. Gary Taylor an nounced the birth of a son, Timo thy Anthony, on Feb. 6 at Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood.
