Mrs. Barbara Wells and sons and Mrs. Sara Nell Heaton and grandson, visited Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Robertson and son in Greenville, Friday afternoon. Mrs. Ella Harvey was called to the Lydia Mill on Monday morning due to the death of her sister- in-law, Mrs. Mattie Harvey. Mrs. Landy Heaton and grand daughter, Rudell Heaton, re turned home Friday evening af ter spending last weekend with Mrs. Wendell Robertson and son, Scott in Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. James Craine were called to Columbia on Sun day afternoon due to the death of his uncle, Jake Rogers. Mr. and Mrs. Bardy Cannon and family of Greenville spent Friday with Mr. and Mrs. Author Sanders. Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Reeder were Mr. and Mrs. Billy Pitts and children of Bel ton; Mrs. Ann Pitts of Laurens; and Mrs. Ralph Reed of Lexing ton. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Wooten spent a few days vacationing in Tennessee and Cherokee, N.C. Among those attending the fun eral of their aunt, Mrs. Florence Puckett in Whitmire Wednesday were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Whitsel, Mrs. Hank Caughman, Mrs. Grady Spoone, Mrs. Brian Blackwell, Mr. Larry Hedgpeth, and Mrs. Kobe Dalton, all of this city; and Mr. and Mrs. Junior Garner of Chester. Mrs. Clyde Laney of this city attended the funeral also. BIRTHDAY PARTY David Hanks, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Hanks Jr., enjoyed a party in honor of his third birthday at their home on Florence Street. A large group of boys and girls enjoyed games and refreshments. Hostesses for the party was his motlier, Mrs. Hanks, Janice Taylor and Dianne Owen. David received a lot of nice gifts. GET TOGETHER Mr. and Mrs. Sumpter Prater of Joanna were very pleasantly surprised on Sunday to have sev eral of Mrs. Prater’s girlhood friends drop by for lunch. They included Mrs. Iva Windsor and Mrs. Noleekea Foster of Clinton; Mrs. Flossie Sligh and Mrs. Ida Fellers of Newberry; Mrs. Minnie Davenport of Prosperity; Mrs. Merlie (Dominick) Kelly of Pine Bluff, Ark.; Mrs. Daisy (Young) Boozer of Birmingham, Ala.; and also Mrs. James Dom inick.
