Lake Moul trie and the Big Pee Dee River are the “hot spots” with excel lent catches of large mouth bass, striped bass, crappie and bream being reported. Early morn ing and late afternoon fishing is producing the best results. TROUT FISHING IN MOUN TAINS - Trout fishing is good due to a stocking of surplus fish. These fish are averaging a- bout 1/2 lb. each and fishing should remain good through the weekend. LAKE HARTWELL - Bream fishing is good using worms and crickets in coves and crappie and white bass are biting fair using minnows under bridges at night. All other species poor due to hot weather. SALUDA LAKE-Crappie fish ing is fair using minnows in deep water in late afternoon and at night. Catfish are biting good using cut bait and a few large mouth bass are being taken on plastic worms and top water plugs early and late. PLUMBING HEATING Call LAKE GREENWOOD - Fishing for crappie is fair using min nows in 10 to 12 feet of water. Largemouth bass are biting good using top water plugs early and late in the day and using jelly worms and trolling Thin Fins and Bombers during the remainder of the day. Fishing for catfish is good using cut bait and worms. CLARK HILL - Water condi tions are good, but heavy 4th of July boat traffic and hot weather has kept fishing to a minimum. Fishing for all species is fair. Most successful fishing is being done at night. WATERFE - Crappie fishing is fair using minnows in deepwater at night. Largemouth bass are biting fair using plastic worms and top water plugs early and late - white bass and bream are biting fair. IAKE MURRAY - Bream fish ing was excellent over the week end due to a May Fly Hatch and should remain fair to good. Bream and crappie are biting fair and some white bass schooling is reported. LOWER IAKE MARION - Crappie fishing is good in 12 to 15 feet of water from 301 Bridge to the dam. Largemouth bass are biting fair using top water plugs early and late and jelly worms in deep water and around tree tops during remainder of day. Best sports have lieen around Eutaw Springs, Goat Island and Old Nelsons Place. Striped bass fishing is fair trolling bucktails, large rebels and spoons in deep water near the dam. Bream fish ing is fair. LAKE MOULTRIE - Striped bass fishing has lieen excellent in the Power House, Navy Point and Islands areas using live her ring in 25 to 30 feet of water. (Herring remains plentiful). Largemouth bass fishing is fair to good using jelly wormsandtop water plugs around tree tops and fishing deep water drops during the day. Bream are biting good m three to six feet of water using worms and crickets and crappie fishing is fair in deep water.
