Ja cobs honoring Miss Dorothy Thackston who is marrying Eddie Lambright this Saturday. Sharing hostess honors were Mrs. Lykes Henderson and Mrs. C. E. King. Upon arrival the guests were invited into the livingroom for an appetizer, after which they en joyed a delicious lunch. The table was overlaid with a cutwork cloth. The center- piece was an eye-catching ar rangement ofpink and white spap- dragons and daisies flanked by low silver candleholders with white candlescircledby tiny wed ding bells. Dorothy was presented with a silver tray as a wedding gift from her hostesses. The March Weersing home on Broad Street was lovely as al ways when Mrs. Weersing and Mrs. G. E. Campbell honored Miss Dorothy Thackson with a luncheon last week. Miss Wham Is Selected Mary (Sister) Wham of Mount- ville, a rising sophomore at Coker College, has been selected as a council activity manager of the Women’s Recreation Asso ciation. Activity managers are selected by their classmates, and it is their duty to coordinate the stu dent social activities throughout the school year. BETHABARA HOMECOMING Bethabara Baptist Church homecoming will be held Sunday, June 8, with dinner at 1 p.m. A program of music will begin at 2:30 p.m. All former members and friends are invited to come and bring a basket lunch. Each place at the table was marked with a handy household article with an appropriate lit tle verse. After the poems were read, the item was placed in a tool box which held many more assorted gadgets for the bride. Miss Thackston was feted a- gain last week when Mrs. Law rence Davis and Mrs. A. A. Smith had a small luncheon at the Wilson home. The yellow and white spring flowers looked perfect on the breezeway where lunch was served. Dorothy received a piece of her chosen china from the hos tesses. BRIDES’ LUNCHEON Misses Phylis Mixon and Fran ees Robbins, summer brides-e- lect were entertained at a lun cheon at the home of Mrs. John McBride onNottinghamRoadSat- urday. Each was given a carnation corsage which harmonized beau tifully with their spring outfits. Phylis who will marry Jerry Holland and Frances who is mar rying David McDonald were also remembered with a gift from the hostess. The dining room where lunch was served was decorated with coral and white snapdragons mixed with other garden flowers. ROTARY DANCE The Clinton Rotary Club had its spring dance Saturday night at the Mary Mus^rove Hotel. The “Casuals” from Green wood provided music for the in formal affair. A buffet of hors-d’oeuvres was served during intermission. , J. C.
