THE CHRONICLE, Clinton, S. C., June 5, 1969-—3-A About People You Know Kinard-Coker Mrs. Richard Rhame and little daughter, Rita, of Gainesville, Fla., spent last week with Dr. and Mrs. D. 0. Rhame. Mr. Rhame was here for the weekend and ac companied them home. * * * Mr. and Mrs. I. Mac Adair, Hub Adair, Mrs. Duck Adair and little son, Jim, attended gradua tion ceremonies at The Citadel the past weekend. Jim Adair was a member of the graduating class. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Guy E. Hancock Jr., and son, Fred of Isle of Palms were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Horne. * * * Rev. and Mrs. Davis Youngand daughters are visiting his mo ther, Mrs. Henry Young Sr., on Broad St. They spent last week at Pawleys. The family group also included Mr. and Mrs. Henry Young Jr. and son Bob, and Mrs. Grace Hamilton and three child ren from Easley. * * * Joining the Youngs during the week were Mrs. Collette Cole man Tibbets, Mrs. Dorcus Nance, Mrs. Hubert Pitts, Mrs. J. M. Dick, and Miss “Copey" Dick. Mrs. Earle Workman left Fri day to attend graduation cere monies at Vardell Hall, Red Springs, N.C. where her grand daughter, Linda Hunter Trice is a member of the senior class. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Horace McMill- lan of Peoria, 111. were week end guests of his uncle, Lonnie McMillian Sr. and Mrs. McMill- ian. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Giles of Brunswick, Ga. spent the week end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thurston Giles. * * * Mrs. C. J. Musselwhite and daughter, Mel, have returned to their home in Kingstree after a ten day visit with her mother, Mrs. Marie Singley. They ac companied Mrs. Singley home following a two weeks visit in Kingstree with the Musselwhites. * * * Mrs. George Watts Copeland, spent Friday afternoon and Sat urday in Due West attending grad uation at Erskine College and the reunion of the Class of 1914, of which she was a member. They were entertained with a break fast and luncheon on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Fuller Reese of Jacksonville, Fla. were guests of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lykes Henderson on Friday. * * * Bobby L. Medlock, radioman, completed electric and electron ics school in Bainbridge, Mary land and is enrolled in code school before boarding the W. M. Wood, USS in Norfolk, Va. He is the son of Mrs. Frank Simpson, Sr. * * * Sgt. Ronnie King has received his discharge from the U.S. Ma rine Corp. He is with his mother, Mrs. L. L. King. * * * Dr. and Mrs. Louis Stephens and Mr. and Mrs. Donny Wilder took their children for a long weekend to Garden City, return ing to Clinton Sunday. * * * Dr. Randy Huff and sons, Peter and Andrew spent last weekend camping and fishing at Pawley’s Island. They brought back an ice chest full of flounder. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Billy Tiller, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Nixon and fami lies vacationed at Surfside Beach last week. * * * Airman Stanley Power, who is stationed at El Paso, Tex., spent the weekend with hisparents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Power. 4 Miss Sara Sadler graduated last weekend from Trinity Col lege in Washington, D.C. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Sad ler and her sisters went to see her receive the degree. * + * Mr. andMrs. EdSadler andMr. David Boland returned Saturday from a Caribbean cruise. They flew to Miami and were there for two days before sailing to Jamaica. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hill and children spent the weekend in Ir- more with Mrs. Hill’s brother, Mr. and Mrs. Davis R. Holland Jr. * * * Mrs. L. L. King and her son, Ronny, are spending a few days in Lakeview, going especially to see Mrs. King’s new granddaugh ter. They will also visit with Misses Judy and Connie King of Greenville, who are vacationing at Myrtle Beach. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Michael Surles and son Mark, from Kinston, N.C. have been visiting with Mrs. Surles parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Dobbins for the past two weeks. * * * Mr. and Mrs. James C. Tin man and son, Conrad, of Char lottesville, Va., visited Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Tinman over the week end. Miss Linda Sue Thomas is a patient at Greenwood Hospital. * * * Mr. and Mrs. Carl E. Jenkins and three children have returned to their home in Miami, Fla., af ter being with Mr. Jenkins fa ther, Mr. C. Roy Jenkins and Mrs. Jenkins. * * * Mr. and Mrs. C. Roy Jenkins had as their guests Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Julian P. Moore of Asheville, N.C. Mr. Moore is Mrs. Jenkins’ brother. * * * Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Derrick of Charlotte were recent long weekend visitors of Mr. and Mrs. C. Roy Jenkins. Mrs. Derrick (the former Edna Haltiwanger of Columbia) and Mrs. Jenkins have been friends since Coker College days. Mr. Tom Able of Greenville visited Mr. Roy Jenkins recently. Spend-the-day guests of Mr.C. Roy Jenkins were his brother, Mr. Mae Jenkins, Greenville and his grandson, Roy E. Haynes of Columbia. + + * Other visitors of Mr. C. Roy Jenkins have been Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Taylor, Rock Hill, and Mrs. L. R. Booker of Clemson. * * * Mrs. R. E. Ferguson and grandson, David Beckman attend ed the graduation at Converse College. Her granddaughter, Miss Patricia M. Ferguson of Greenville was a member of the graduating class. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Kinard Jr., of Clinton announce the engage ment of their daughter, Linda La Verne, to Mr. Willie Coker Jr. of Philadelphia, Pennsyl vania. The wedding is planned for August 23 at Hebron Baptist Church. Miss Kinard attended Bell Street High School and Allen University where she majored in elementary education and was a member of Teta Phi Beta Sor ority. During the academic year of 1967-68 she served as first attendant to “Miss Allen.” Mr. Coker is the son of Rev. and Mrs. W. D. Coker of Gray Court. He attended Gray Court School and Morris College where he majored in biology. He is presently employed at Allen Wood Steel in Conshohoeken, Pennsyl vania. * * * SARAH GLENN CIRCLE The Sarah Glenn Circle of Broad Street United Methodist Church will meet Monday night, June 9 at tlie lakeside cottage of Mrs. R.
