Director All people in the Clinton- Joanna area who are interested in learning to play Bridge are asked to attend an organizational meeting at the YMCA next Tues day, March 11, at 7:30 p.m. The class will be under the in struction of Mrs. John Burney. Time and days of the class will be set at the first meeting. If anyone is interested and finds it impossible to attend the first meeting, call the ‘Y’ and get your name place on the class roll. JUNIOR ALL-STARS The Junior Boys All-Star League traveled to Kannapolis, N.C., Friday, Feb. 28 to partici- in the YMCA Carolinas Tournament. The Clinton team found it hard pressed to get close to the basket against a much bet ter team from Rockingham and were defeated by a score of 72 to 22. SMALL FRY LEAGUE The Small Fry League met at the Armory Monday, Feb. 24, to play a scheduled double header. In the first game the Pistons downed the Warriors 26 to 3. Pevis led the scoring for the Pis tons with 16 points while Saund ers had 3 points for the Warr iors. In the second game the Bullets took on the Red Skins in a very hard fought game and were downed 8 to 4. Gault was high for the winning Red Skins with 4 points while McWaters and Nel son each had 2 points for the Bul lets. CADET LEAGUE The Cadet League playing at the Armory last week had the Red Skins meeting Joanna in the first game. The League leading Red Skins proved too strong for Jo anna by defeating them 28 to 6. Crocker led the scoring for the Red Skins with 10 points while Saunders scored 2 for the Jo anna team. The second game between the Bullets and Pistons was a very close game with the Bullets win ning 17 to 14. Wessinger was game high for the winning Bullets with 10 points. Gaines, McGee, and Ward each scored 4 points for the Pistons. ADULT MEN’S LEAGUE In a scheduled doubleheader played at the National Guard Armory last Thursday, the Has Beens took on the J.C.’s in the first game of the evening. Th J.C.’s played a very fine game against the League leading Has- Beens but fell short of a win by 68 to 64. Johnny Rogers led the scoring for the Has-Beens with 28 points, Bankhead had 23. Emer son was high for the J.C. ’s with 24 points while Manly had 19, and Wingard had 11 in the loser's cause. In the second game Joanna downed Torrington Co. 63 to 53. Stockman led the scoring for Jo anna with 24 points. Price was high for Torrington with 38 points. SENIOR LEAGUE In the first game the Globe Trotters downed the Lakers by a score of 46 to 27. Grube led the scoring for the Trotters with 20 points. Fennel was high for the Lakers with 11 points. In the second game the League leading Celtics ran away with the Red Devils by scoring 92points The Red Devils managed to hit only 17 points. “Miss B” pale-pales yes-yes for Easter!
