THE CHRONICLE, Clinton, S. C., March 6, 1969—8-A M. NL Montie M. Davis, 65, of 5-G St., died early Monday in a local hospital. He was a native of Buncombe County, N.C., but lived in Marion, N.C., and moved to Clinton 20 years ago. He was a son of the late John A. and Carrie Solo mon Davis. He operated a shoe shop in Marion and was a shoe repairman in Clinton atCityShoe Shop. He attended Morganton, N.C., School for the Deaf and Blind and was a member of Cal vary Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lattie Lokey Davis; a son, Tom J. Davis of Clinton; a brother, G. W. Davis of Marion; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were con ducted Tuesday at Calvary Bap tist Church by the Rev. J. W. SpiUers. Burial was in Rose- mont Cemetery. Johnny Washington CROSS HILL - Johnny Wash ington, 57, died at home Wednes day, Feb. 26. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Florence Washington, a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Tribble of Cross Hill; two sons, Cal Washington of Cross Hill and John Washington Jr. of Philadelphia, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Boyd and Mrs. Lillie Fuller of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and two brothers, the Rev. Willie Washington and George Washington of Brooklyn. Funeral services were con ducted Sunday at St John Bap tist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. McMorris Mrs. Ola McMorris widow of Martin Luther “Duggie* McMor ris of Gary Street, died at her home Saturday morning. She was a member ofFairview AME Church, the Order of the Eastern Staj 3nd Women’s Aid Society. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy McMorris Evans of Richland, Calif.; four sons, Pro verb, Andrew, Clarence and the Rev. Willie McMorris of Balti more, Md.; four sisters, Mrs. Lucy Hill and Mrs. Daisy Glas- clow of Clinton and Mrs. Vinnie McCrackin and Mrs. Lugenia Faucett of Yonkers, N.Y.; a bro ther, Wash Jenkins of New York; and 25 grandchildren. Funeral services were con ducted Wednesday at Fairview AME Church near Clinton. Burial was in the church cemetery. L. T. Rackley SENECA - L. T. Rackley, 50, ofRt. 5, Seneca, died Wednes day afternoon, Feb. 26, at an Oconee County hospital He was a brother of Mrs. Ferris(Pauline Moore of Clinton. Funeral services were con ducted Friday with burial in Oconee Memorial Park. Other survivors include his wife, stepmother, a son, two bro thers, and another sister. L E. Hall, Jr. Funeral services for Lawrence Earl Hall Jr., of Lavergne, Tenn., were held at Woodfin Mortuary in Lavergne Monday. Burial was in Roselawn Memor ial Gardens. He died Saturday in a Nashville, Tenn., hospital of injuries suf fered in an automobile accident. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hall Sr. of Lavergne and formerly of Clin ton; a brother, Charles Hall of At lanta, Ga.; a sister, Mrs.George Lahde of Paducah, Ky.; grand mother, Mrs. Claudia Hall of Smyrna, Tenn., and formerly of Clinton. C. A. Perry ABBEVILLE - Claude Allen Perry, 57, ofSharonSchoolCom munity, died early Sunday at his home. He was the father of David Perry of Clinton. Other survi vors include his wife, two other sons, a daughter, four brothers and three grandchildren. Funeral services were con ducted Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home with burial in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Miss Brehmer NEWBERRY - Miss Mary Eli zabeth Brehmer, 81, died Sunday in an Abbeville nursing home. She was a sister of Mrs. J. Hugh Schappell and Mrs. Eunice John son of Kinards. Other survivors include a bro ther. Funeral services were con ducted Tuesday at Whitaker Fun eral Home with burial in Trinity Methodist Church cemetery. W. JL Alexander UNION - William Allen Alex ander, 68, of 2 - B Murrah A- partments, died Sunday night at a local hospital. He was a native of Union Coun ty, a son of Mrs. Rosa Mable Willard Alexander of Rt 2, Whit mire, and the late William Sam uel Alexander. He was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church, a retired carpenter and a World War H veteran. Surviving also are his wife, Mrs. Sallie Mae Alexander; three daughters, Mrs. Lillie Willard of Buffalo and Mrs. Jessie May Quinn and Mrs. Barbara Austin of Union; five sons, Carl Alexander of Charleston, Charles Alexander of Joanna, Ernest Alexander of Union, James Alexander of Rt 1, Whitmire and Lewis Alexander of the USAF in Alabama; three sisters, Mrs. Mable Wix, Mrs. Edna Wix and Mrs. Mary Mc- Millian of Whitmire; two bro thers, Fred and Robert Alexander of Rt. 2, Whitmire; and 15 grand children.
