BY SALLY SHAW DEAR SALLY: My husband and I are both 44, have two teen- aged children, and have been dis cussing the idea of having a- nother baby. We are both keen on | this, but Hesitate for fear that the vast age-difference between a new little baby and our teen agers would create some em barrassment. What do you think about this? GEORGIA. DEAR GEORGIA: I think your reasoning is silly! If you and your husband want a new little baby, by all means have it. There is certainly nothing >embarras- sing” OR unusual about such an age-difference between teenaged children and a new baby. DEAR SALLY: I have been ex ceedingly annoyed recently by numerous phone calls from an anonymous woman who tells me that my husband is “carryingon" with a certain red-hared di vorcee who works in his office, and then the woman hangs up abruptly before I can make any comeback. I trust my hus band completely, he rarely if ever goes out at night without me, and he's always been devoted to me and our children. For these reasons, these phone calls shouldn t bother me -- but all the same they do. 1 haven't men tioned anything about this to my husband as yet. Do you think I should? FRAYED NERVES. DEAR FRAYED NERVES: Yes. Tell him that some spineless busybody who refuses to identi fy herself has been bothering you with phone calls, wild stor ies about him and a woman in his office. Then suggest that he ar range for an unlisted phone num ber. DEAR SALLY: Pm a girl of 17, have always respected my parents and never given them any trouble at all. However, for some time now they have been ob jecting strongly because I in vite boys into our home after dates. We never do anything ques tionable -- just sit in the liv ing room talking or playing re cords or watching a late show on TV -- but because it's some time 1:30 or 2:00 a.m. before these boys leave, my parents say this is wrong. What do you think? BARBIE DEAR BARBIE: The fact that you bring your boy friends in after a date is all right. . . much, MUCH better than parking somewhere in their cars. But probably what your parents are objecting most strongly to is the length of their visits, and I'm with then on this. I think you should be sending them on their way quite a bit earlier than 1:30 or 2:00 a.m. DEAR SALLY: Do you think a man has the right to tell his fiancee that she's too fat? Since we became engaged, my other wise l>eautiful girl has lost com pletely her original lovely shape under many excess pounds of un attractive flesh. Maybe this sounds silly, but it's becoming in creasingly tough for me to re main in love with a girl who is eating her way out of my heart. MAC. DEAR MAC: Certainly you have a right to speak to her about this. Tell her about the beautiful, shapely girl you originally fell in love with, but that she's mak ing it tougher all the time for you to recognize her. Suggest that she consult her doctor about a good, sensible diet that will get her back to size. If she resents your suggestions and refuses to do anything about it, thenyoi/11 know she loves food more than she does you.
