M' rns Leroy Johnson of Greensboro^ N.C. at the Friendship A.M.L. Church in Clinton. The recep tion was in the recreation room T the church. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Mrs. Karlene McMorris of Greenville was the matron f honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Mae Frances Carwise, Miss Joyce Floyd and Miss Velma Pruitt all of Clinton, Miss Rhe- da Tucker of Charleston, Miss Belinda Gill and Miss Delons Freeman both of Newberry. Jun ior bridesmaid were Terry Fo rme Johnson, and.NinaCleo John son, sisters of the bride. Flower girls were Brenda Williams of Hodges and Paula Broadwater of Columbia. They wore long sleeved A-line formats of emeral green with scooped necklines. The bride's gown was of alen- con lace over bridal tafata with a fitted bodice and sabrina neck line encrusted with pearls and sequins. Attached t the waist fell a four tiered pear a-k train of ruffled alencon lace. The veil was of silk alusi n and was field by a crown f seed pearls with inserted lace. Area TB Patients Get Christmas Gifts All 17 tuberculosis hospital pa tients from Area Six received Christmas gifts from the Tuber culosis and Health Association, according to the president, Rich ard W. Stowe ofGreenwood. In a letter to the patients, Mr. Stowe noted that as a voluntary- health organization, supported by public contributions, the associa tion is interested in the health of all and dedicated to the eradi cation of tuberculosis and ttie prevention and control ofother Candlelight Service At Lutheran Church The annual Candlelight Service of St. John's Lutheran Church, Baldwin Heights, will be held Tuesday evening, December 24, beginning at 8:30. While the service will again consist largely of the singing of familiar and favorite Christmas hymns and carols and the sig nificantly symbolical lighting of candles, there will be the read ing of appropriate Scripture, a brief meditation by Dr. Keisler, the interim pastor, and a vocal solo, “0 Holy Night" by Mrs. Barbara Hellams, soloist of Clin ton. The service this year is in the new sanctuary. The public is invited. respiratory diseases. The num ber of hospitalized TB patients from each county is as follows: Abbeville, 2; Edgefield, 1;Green wood, 4, Laurens, G, McC' muck, 1; Newberry, 2; Saluda, 1. Mrs. William F. Mauldin re ports that the Greenwood County- patients will receive gifts also from the McKissiek Club and from the Lion's Club. The president pointed - ut that the work with patients is another health service of the Tubercu losis and Health Association which is made possible by do nations to the Christmas Seal Campaign. C. K. Wright of Lau rens reports that receipts in the current campaign amount to $28,132.97 which is more than 75 r ; of the goal of $36,000. A reminder will be mailed on December 27 to those who have not responded to the Christmas Seal letter. The mailing will be prepared by Laurens Pack "78 of the Cub Scouts working under the direction of the den leader coach, Mrs. Robert E. Simmons and the following den mothers: Mrs. Frances Summeral, Mrs. Cozy Todd, Mrs. Jimmie La Grand, Mrs. Elinta Owens, Mrs. June Lancaster and Mrs. Edie Myers. Approximately 30 boys will volunteer their services. The group is sponsored by the Men s Class of the First Methodist Church.
