These schools take about a year to com plete. After this phase of school he will then go to sea duty and overseas duty as a Sonar Tech nician. RECEIVES DISCHARGE Petty Officer Douglas Lollis received his discharge at Nor folk, Va., on Oct. 1. He served two years in the Navy. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Clifton Lollis who resides on Moorehead Street in Joanna. Friends will be interested to know that 9 year old Danny Tho mas enrolled on Monday at Cedar Springs School in Spartanburg. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Thomas of 122 Marion St. W. J. Hogan and Jeff, and John ny Hogan were Saturday evening visitors in Greenwood. Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Bozard, Martin and Margaret, visited Mr. and Mrs. P. C. Griffis in Cow Pens on Sunday. Mrs. J. M. Bo- zard, who had been there for sev eral days, returned with them. Mrs. Bessie Hamm visited her son and family. Rev. and Mrs. Horace Hamm in Knoxville, Tenn. several days last week. They wanted her to come especially to see the Premier showing of “Bill Wallace of China." Also Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Thompson spent the weekend with the Hamms and Mrs. Hamm returned with them on Monday.
