Crouch KINARDS - Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 22, for William Jennings Bryant Crouch, 53, who died early Wed nesday at a Clinton hospital. Services were conducted at Sharon Methodist Church with burial in Pine Lawn Memory Gar dens. A native of Newberry County, Mr. Crouch was a son of the late John S. and Nora Bearden Crouch. He was a member of Sharon Methodist Church and was employed at the Bailey Plant in Clinton. He was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Helen Taylor Crouch; three sons, Billy Crouch of Oregan, 111., Steve and Ronnie Crouch of the home; two daughters, Mrs. H. L. (Claudette) Bowser of Greenwood and Mrs. C. J. (Joyce) Bishop of Newberry; two brothers, Woodrow Crouch of Joanna and David Crouch of New berry; four sisters, Mrs. Eu gene (Mae) Derrick and Mrs. Elizabeth Reese of Newberry, Mrs. Virgil (Marv Anne) Rodgers and Mrs. Daniel (Bessie) Lathrop of Saluda; and five grandchildren. Mrs. Newman KINARDS - Mrs. Agnew Mc Cullough Newman, 78, of Route 1, Kinards, died early Wednes day morning, Aug. 21, in a Col umbia hospital. The widow of John Newman, she was a native of Coombs Coun ty, Ga., but lived near Clin ton and Kinards for 34 years. She was a daughter of the late Charles and Sarah Ann Mosley McCullough. She attended the Church of God. Survivors include a son, Thom as 0. Newman of Kinards; a sister, Mrs. Nettie Bryant of Dade City, Fla. Funeral services were con ducted Friday at Gray Funeral Home in Clinton with burial in Trinity Methodist Church ceme tery in Newberry County. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bertha Hadden Holcombe; a daughter, Mrs. B. R. (Bertha) Clement of Greenwood; three sons, Thomas Shevis Holcombe Jr. of Joanna, Henry J. Holcombe of Nashville, Tenn. and Max H. Holcombe of Ft. Jackson; two sis ters, Miss Jennie Holcombe and Mrs. Helen Turner of Ander son; two brothers, Harris Hol combe of Townville and Joe Hol combe Funeral services were conduc ted Saturday at Joanna Pres byterian Church with burial in Rosemont Cemetery in Clinton. J. H. Lott John Henry Lott, 68, died Fri day afternoon in a Clinton hos pital. A native of Bamberg, he lived in Clinton for many years and was a retired employe of Jo anna Mills. He was a member of the Assembly of God. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Leailla Owens Lott; four sons, L. M. Lott of Gaston, S.C., Gary G. Lott of Morehead City, N. C., John Henry Lott, Jr. and Kirnmett L. Lott of Clinton; a daughter, Mrs. Nina Birdsong of Wilmington, N. C.; a sister, Mrs. Sallie Jones of Bamberg; two half-brothers, EllisonWar- ren and Ray Warren ofBambergj and three grandchildren. Holcombe JOANNA - ThomasShevisHol- :ombe Sr., 59, of 419 Brown- ng Ave., died at his home at ) p. m. Thursday, Aug . 22. He was a native of Ander son County, son of the late Henry N. and Lucy Harris Holcombe, and had lived in Joanna for 13 years. He was a former tex tile employee and was also an employee at Whitten Village. He was an elder of Joanna Presby terian Church, and was Sunday School superintendent. Mrs. Sanders STARTEX - Mrs. Ruby Pearl Sanders, 83, died Friday after noon at her home. She was the mother of Mrs. Leo (Lee Ila) Heatherly and Gro ver Sanders of Clinton. Other survivors include three other daughters, another son, a sister, 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Dolfus Valentine LAURENS - Dolfus Valentine, brother of Mrs. Sarah Malone of Clinton, died Saturday. Funeral services were conduc ted Wednesday at Zion Hill Bap tist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery. Other survivors include his wife, a daughter, eight grand children and 16 great-grandchil dren. ANDERSON - Mrs. Alice Lu la Grant Frost, 90, died Sat urday afternoon in an Anderson hospital. She was the mother of J. B. Frost, Mrs. Claire Chapman and Mrs. Doris Whitfield, all of Clin ton. Other survivors include two other sons, two other daughters, 16 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. The Reverend Jimmie Lee Smith III of Lithonia (Metro- Atlanta), Georgia will be the guest evangelist for the week. Rev. Smith is a member of the North Georgia Conference of the A.M.E. Church and is presently pastoring Emanuel A.M.E. Church in Col jmbia. He attended Turner Theological Seminary and is now studying at Allen University. The guest evangelist is a pianist, record ing artist and a memlier of the Telepypers Association of Amer ica. Prayer services will tie con ducted nightly at 7:30 p.m. Preaching services will tiegin at 8:00 p.m. An invitation is extended to visiting choirs and the public to attend all services.
