Last fall, gaining inspiration from plans for the Crusade of the Americas, church leaders sought to find God’s wis dom for the task. To them was given the idea, recently en- c uraged by evangelism leaders within the denomination, of a tent revival, to be staged on the church grounds and preceded by intense spiritual and practical preparation. Once the idea was finally ac cepted by the majority of the active members, there were still hurdles to overcome. The church had never used a full-time evan gelist; it had never used the love offering approach to an honor arium; it had never worshiped in a tent. Gid still honors revival efforts where His pe^le genuinely want revival and are willing to pay the price for it. Religion Professor Joins PC Faculty Dr. George W. Ramsey will join the Presbyterian College faculty next fall as an asso ciate professor of religion, President Marc C. Weersing an nounced today. He said the new professor, who has just received his doctorate from Princeton University, is a specialist in the <'Id Testament. Dr. Ramsey has taught reli gion at Carleton University, Ot tawa, Ontarie, Canada, since 196!). He received his master’s that year from Princeton, where ho attended on fellowship earned as an honor graduate of Union Theological Seminary in Vir ginia. He got his undergraduate training at Davidson College, re ceiving the AH degree in 1959. A native of Prescott, Ark., George Ramsey is the son of Dr. Harmon H. Ramsey, former Athens, Ga., pastor now asso ciated with the Presbyterian Church US Hoard of Christian Kducation in Richmond. He is 30 years old and married. Crumlin Attends English Institute Wallace F. Crumlin of 313 North Hell St. is attending a six week summer institute for the ad vanced study of English at Sim mons College in Boston, Mass. Crumlin is an English teacher at Hell Street High School and is pastor of Friendship Church. He is one of 34 participants at the institute which is sup ported by a $4 5,000 grant from the U.S. Office of Education. The students come from 11 states, as well as from New England.
