Caro lina Avenue was the setting for a Christmas Drop-in last Friday evening, December 16, beginning at 7 o’clock. As guests assembled they were greeted by Mrs. Pitts and invited into the living room. A large Christmas wreath was used at the en trance door with two smaller ones to each side of the porch. In the living room a farm ing atmosphere was noted with a tree arrangement of red Christmas balls in bal- Aftemoon Tea Given On Monday Mbs. J. B. Speake and Miss Agnes Davis complimented | friends with an afternoon tea r on Monday afternoon, Dec. P 19, at the home’ of Mrs. Ray- : mond Pitts on E. Carolina gj Ave. Guests arrived between the hours of 3:30 to 5 p. m. The home was beautifully arranged with Christmas de corations. Red roses were used on the mantel in the liv ing room with red burning tapers. Red Christmas balls and rod poinsettias also added a festive note. In the dining room punch and party dainties were ser ved from a buffet table dres sed with linen embroidered cloth centered with an epergne arrangement of red carnations and two three- branched silver candelabrae with red candles. Fruit ar rangements were used at other points. The room was decorated with a table of traditional Christmas red candles with greenery, and a “dollar” tree on which dollar bills were pinned for the Lottie Moon offering.
