Kenedy, 53, as he was hunting deer in a heavily wooded area of the Sumter National ,Forest near here about 7:30 ifTh. Friday, first day of the deer season in the state’s Enoree gam' management area. Newberry’ County Coroner George R. Summer said Tom Clark, 19, of Ulmers was released on a $1,000 ap pearance bond after the ac cidental shooting. Several men, including Clark, were deer hunting in the forest area about five miles west of Whitmire off State Highway 60, the coron er said. The coroner quoted Clark as saying the rifle had "an easy trigger" and that he bought the gun only three weeks ago: : Coroner Summer said the bullet struck Kennedy in the lower left side of the abdo men. The Red Devils made it IS when Francis Cooper plunged five yards in the second quarter. The touchdown was set up by a 60-yard punt re turn by Cooper. Newbery’s Vinly score was made in the second. Walter ,Shealy, fullback, took a pas frorp James Williams that was good for 25 yards and the score. The extra poin was missed. In the third period, Billy Freeman went 35 yards to pay dirt and Freeman got the extra point. The final tal ly came when Cooper shot around left end for 25 yards. This was an Eastern AA game. Revival Services At Lucas Ave. Church Revival services will be held at Lucas Avenue Bap tist Church, Laurens, during the week of November 6-13. The visiting preacher will be Rev. Cecil Candler, pastor of the Pk'asant Hill Baptist Church, Heath Springs. The music will be directed by flouts C. Beaver, minister of music at First Baptist Church, Union. Services will be conducted daily at 7:30 p.m. and on Tuesday through Thursday at 9:30 a.m. Allen Finley Has Grand Champion. ■ At County Fair In the junilor 4-H beef cat tle show at the Laurens Coun ty Fair a Lauretos County youth and a Greenville Coun ty youth took top honors. Allen Finley, a member of the Laurens County 4-H Livestock Club had the best fitted animal and showed the grand champion, a Hereford. Nathan Arledge of the Greenville 4-H Club won the showmanship contest and showed the reserve champ ion.
