C., Thursday, March 3, 1966 Woodniff Takes r Basketball Tourney Woodruff High School cap tured both the girls' and boys’ Eastern AA tournament titles here Friday night. The victim in both instances was Chester High. * The Woodruff boys downed Chester 74-52 and the girls’ title went to the Wolverines on a 57-37 win over Chester. Woodruff's girls took their 12th straight conference win without a loss as they thrash ed Chester, 57-37. The Wolverine boys’ team jumped off to a 26-11 advantage after one quarter^ of play and extended the margin to 44-22 at the half. , Mike Watts’ 20 points led the Woodruff club to their 11th conference victory against one loss. The Wolverines were top- seeded in the draw. Mrs. Teague Attends Session in Columbia Mrs. M. M. Teague, execu tive director of the Tubecu- losis and Health Association of Greenwood-Laurens Counties, is attending a workshop for ex ecutives at the Columbia Hotel March 1-4. The meeting is sponsored by the South Caro lina Conference of Tuberculosis Workers. The conference theme is “TB Eradication—A Cooperative Ef fort.” Association activities and achievements of 1965-66 will be evaluated to indicate future programs in the areas of legsi- lation and appropriations, pro tection of children from infec tion, case detection, profession al education and public report ing and accounting. In addition to serving, as a group leader, Mrs. Teague will moderate the session on Case Detection. ; Dr. Leighton Ford To Speak Sunday At First Presbyterian Dr. .Leighton Ford, an evan- eglist associate of Dr. Billy Gra ham, will preach at the 11 a. m. service Sunday at the First Presbyterian Church.
