HOGAN Correspondent-Representative Telephone SOT-SMS HARBINS HOLD OPEN HOUSE On Sunday afternoon between the hours of 3:00 to 4:30, open house was held at the parsonage of the First Baptist Church. A new addition to the parsonage was completed recently. Assisting the pastor and his wife, Rev. and Mrs. Byron Har bin, were Mr. and Mrs. Louis Murphy, Mrs. Myra Lehman, and Miss Ruth Hair. A large number of friends from the community and sur rounding area enjoyed the drop- in. Refreshments, consisting of sandwiches, nuts, cake squares, and punch were served. VISITS MOTHER Mrs. Robert Plott and daugh ter, Jennifer, of Covington, Va., arrived last Wednesday to spend a week with her mother, Mrs. Dollie M. Carr on Laurens Street. Pvt. Vaughn B. Sanford, as signed to Fort Sill, Okla., after basic training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, visited his father, Vic Samples, recently. Mr. and Mrs. Hack Plater and family and Mrs. John Flow were week-end guests of Mi 1 , and Mrs. Charles Galloway in Augusta, Ga. UNDERGOES SURGERY James Bagwell is a surgical patient in Self Memorial hos pital, Greenwood. Other patients there at the present time are Otis Murphy and Mrs. Swannie Wicker. Mrs. Lou Kitchens and Joey of Newberry, spent Sunday with Mrs. Earl Connell. Mr. Connell, who has just completed a job in Selma, Ala., spent the week at home. He left Monday for Rich mond, Va. Friday Visitors in Spartanburg were Mrs. John Burnett and Mrs. George Stockman. Also, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Boyce and Cherry of Aiken, who spent the week-end with Mason Rowland. Mr. and-'Mrs. Joe Johnson were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Warren in Charleston. ON EXTENDED VISIT Mrs. Mae Tickle of Blueffeld, W. Va., is on an extended visit with her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Taylor.
