Lewis Simpson and Miss Deb bie Simpson spent last week at Myrtle Beach with Mr. and Mrs. Russel Cox, Rusty and Bootsie. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Stockman aid son, John, and' Mrs. S. B. Pruitt were guests of Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Slatten in Anderson County last Wednesday. Mrs. Slatton is the sister-in-law of Mrs. Pruitt. Col. Willard Jones (ret.) of Silver Springs, Md., spent Tuesday with Dr. and Mrs. Delmar Rhame. Mr. and Mrs. Phil Connell have returned from their wed ding trip and are making their home on Caldwell Street. Mr. Connell is connected with the Ca tawba Timber Company. Mrs. John W. Forsythe and son, John Dillard, of .Fprt Worth, Texas, spent a few days with her mother, Mrs. L. B. Dillard. They left on Wednesday to visit her sister, Mrs. A. C. McSween and family in Greensboro, N. C., going especially to attend the Higgins-McSween wedding. John W. Dillard of New York City, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dray ton Dillard of Andrews, were business visitors here during the week. ENTERTAIN FLA. GUESTS Mrs. Tom B. Milam of Lees burg, Fla., and Mrs. Cecil Dye of Orlando, Fla., visited rela tives iJigre several days this week. On Monday they were din ner guests along with Mr. and Mrs. Everett Carson of Gaston ia, N. C., of Mr. and Mrs. John Roseboro. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Blanch ard have returned from a visit with relatives in Oneida and Schenectady, N. Y. While away they also visited the World’s Fair and visited in Mystic, Conn. Mrs. R. W. Hayes and sons, Mike, David, and BUI, of Ma rietta, Ga., spent last week with her mother, Mrs. Guy Copeland. Mr. Hayes was here for the week-end Min d accompanied them home. Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Marx of Syracuse, N. Y., are guests of their sister, Mrs. O. H. Sheely, Jr., and Mrs. Sheely. While here Mr. and Mrs. Sheely and Mr. and Mrs. Marx enjoyed a sev eral days vacation stay at Myr tle Beach. Mrs. Robert Plaxipo and chil dren spent last week in Dublin, Ga., with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank I. Lee, going espec ially to visit her father who ig^ill and a hospital patient. Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Martin and children are vacationing at Ocean Drive Beach. Mr. and Mrs. John Cemy and children of Atlanta, Ga., spent the past week visiting Mrs. Cer- ny’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Suddeth and grand daughter, Anne, returned home Wednesday from a two weeks’ visit in Bethesda, Md., with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Suddeth. Her daughter, Mrs. Heide Trask, who has been vis iting her mother, has returned to her home in Wilmington, N. C. Her granddaughter, Mrs. David Trice, Mr. Trice and Linda of FayetteviUe, N. Jones moved this week to Greenville where the former is a member of the Furman University faculty. Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Baker were in Forest, Miss., this week for the funeral of Mrs. B a k e r* s sister-in-law, Mrs. George Townsend, which was held on Tuesday. _ Mrs. Joe Terry, acompanied Mrs. Ruth Mobley, who has been visiting here, to Redonda Beach, Calif., for a visit. IN SELF MEMORIAL Mrs. Carlisle Neely is con valescing in Self Memorial Hospital, Greenwood, where she underwent surgery this week . On Saturday Mrs. L. B. Going to Macon, Ga., for the interment services were Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Davis, Mrs. Lonnie McMillan, Watts and Jack Davis; Mr, and Mrs. J. R. Davis and Mrs. Jim Todd of Laurens. Following the services they were luncheon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Horace McSwain in Macon. IN GREENVILLE GENERAL Mrs. Henderson Pitts entered Greenville General Hospital this week where she will undergo surgery.
