Franklin Sr., at the home of a brother G. A. Brock and Mrs. Brock in Newberry Snuday. Mr. and Mrs. Bodie and Donny Pitts were the overnight guests of Mr. » and Mrs. Jimmy Berry in Fork Shoals. Mike and Kay Berry re turned home with their grand parents for a few days. Mrs. Virginia Wilson, Miss ^Harriet Wilson and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Jackson were visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Milton King in Greenville Saturday evenking. Mrs. Louise Dunaway and daughters Mary and Bobbie of Winter Haven, Fla., are spend ing a couple of weeks with rel atives here and in Tennessee. Rev. M. J. Sanders spent Tues day of last week in Greenville with the family of Jimmy South when he underwent surgery at the General Hospital. The families of Mrs. Laura Darby and Mrs. George Black- well were called to Newberry Saturday because of the death Of their brother, J. A. Jackson. Mrs. Cora Gaddy of Chester spent Sunday night with her sis ter, Mrs. Darby. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell and Miss Feroline Seay visited relatives in Greenville Sunday. Debbie Pearson of Greenville spent a few days the past week with her grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. Frank Pearson. Mr. and Mrs. Ike Jones and Mrs. W. E. Falls were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Pete Kelley in Gaffney. After lunch they all motored to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure, N. C. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Smith and daughter were guests of his uncle and aunt, Rev. and Mrs. M. J. Sanders the past week enroute from Mobile, Ala., to their home in Palatka, Fla. John Tucker and David Lam bert have returned home follow ing two weeks visit with the former’s brother, Leo Tucker and family in Kissimmee. Fla. While there they visited many places of interest in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kellett of Ninety Six and Mrs. Wood- row McClendon and family of Greenwood were Sunday guests of Mrs. Kelett’s and Mrs. Mc Lendon’s father, C. J. Black- well and sister, Mrs. Virginia Wilson. Mrs. Clarence Crane and son of near Clinton spent Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Whit mire. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Gaskins and sons visited Mr. Gaskin’s mother, Mrs. J. F. Gaskins on Sunday in Rock Hill. Mrs. John Word and David Word were called to Spartan burg Saturday due to the death of her brother, Hubert N. Reed. Mrs. Word, Mr. and Mrs. David Word and Miss Sue Word re turned to Spartanburg on Sun day for the funeral services. Mrs. S. G. Todd of Chariotte, N. C., returned home with her sister, Mrs. John Word for a few days visit. NATIONAL GUARD TO LEAVE SUNDAY A large number of Lydia men, members of the National Guard will leave Sunday for two weeks at Fort Stewart, Ga. MRS. CHURCH WOMEN TO SELL SUPPER The Ladies of the Lydia Church of God will sponsor a chicken plate supper at the Lydia Com munity Budding Friday begin ning at 4 p. m. The supper will be served there or may be taken out or call Rev. Frank Pearson before 3 p. m. Friday for delivery of orders. WOMAN’S CLUBS LEAVE SUNDAY POOR N. Y. The Lydia and Clinton Wo man’s Clubs will leave on the Silver Comet train Sunday eve ning for a week’s vacation in New York. Each one going is asked to be at the train station at 10 p. m. Sunday. Tke group will enjoy the World’s Fair and other points of interest while away. BIRTHDAY PARTY ENJOYED Saturday evening, Mrs. Mil dred Dickerson honored her son Billy with a birthday party in celebration of his 15th birthday. Thirty teenagers were present to enjoy an evening of games and dancing. Sandwiches, cookies and punch were served the group. Miss Susie Estes assisted Mrs. Dickerson in entertaining. Billy was remembered many nice gifts. LYDIA BAPTIST CHURCH NEWS INTERMEDIATE AND YOUNG PEOPLE OUTING The Intermediate and the sin gle young people of the church will enjoy a hamberger fry at the Baptist Assembly on Lake Greenwood tonight (Thursday).
