C., where she is a counsel or. Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Bethea will attend the Bethea reunion at Dothan Church near Dillon today. Mrs. John B. Holland attend ed the graduation exercises of her daughter, Miss Ruth Hol land, at Blue Mountain Col lege, Miss., last week. Enroute home, they visited Dr. Mozelle Ashford in Watkinsville, Ga., a psychology teacher at Blue Mountain. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Ham mett of Nashville, Tenn., spent last week-end with her moth er, Mrs. James S. Gray, and have gone on to Pawley’s Is land to join friends for the week. Mr. Hammett was grad uated from the Vanderbilt Law School last week. ATTEND LIONS MEETING Spending last week-end in Charleston at the state con vention of Lions International Multiple District 32 were Mr. and Mrs. Don Creighton, Mr. and Mrs. Milford Smith, Mr. and Mrs. George Cornleson, Mr. and Mrs. Rembert Tru- luck, and Mr .and Mrs. George Frady. Mrs. J. B .Speake was in Columbia last week-end for the commencement exercises at Columbia College where her daughter, Louise, was a gradu ate. She was accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Wood of Spartanburg, and they were all guests of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Morgan of Columbia, who en tertained them at their lake home, Scrubby Oaks. Mrs. J. H. Cutchin, Jr., and children, Joe, Marshall and Tom, of Charlottesville, Va., who are visiting her mother, Mrs. W. L. Marshall, and her grandmother, Mrs. C. M. Bai ley, spent Tuesday in Wades- boro, N. C., with Mrs. Will Marshall. Miss Elizabeth Glover, who has been spending the last ten days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Glover, after fin ishing semester studies at Win- throp College, left last Sunday night for Rochester, N. Y., where she will work through the summer. Returning last week-end from a houseparty at Pawley’s Island were Misses Jean Glov er, Irene Henderson, Carol King, Martha Crawford, Rena Cox, Linda Culbertson, Mary Belle Davis, Kay Young, Linda Milam and Pat Thomason. AT SCIENCE CAMPS Jack Ferguson will spend the month of June at Science Camp Socareda, at Cedar Mountain, N. C., and Dick Fer guson is attending JESSI sci ence camp at Clemson for the next two weeks. They are sons of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Fergu son, Jr. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Mead ors and children, Joey and Karen, have moved into their new home op. F$ir Drive in Lakewood. Misses Helen and Julia Por ter returned Saturday from a visit with relatives in Georgia and Florida and points of in terest enroute. On Sunday, their brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Rodman Porter of Hawkinsville, Ga., were overnight guests and accom panied the Misses Porter to their summer home at Mon treat, N. C., where they will spend the summer. Mrs. Sam McCrary and Mrs. A. E. Alexander accompanied their sons, Sammy McCrary and Bill Alexander, to the Methodist church camp at Cleveland near Caesar’s Head last Monday. The boys will remain at damp through this week. ■ Bob Trowbridge of Anderson, is spending the week with Ever- ette Fuller. ,> Week-end guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Teague were their children, Mr. and Mrs. Myron Swearington of Mi ami, Fla.; Mr. and Mrs. Lawton Teague and son, Billy, of Nor folk, Va. They were joined Sun day by Mr. and Mrs. B. R. Tan ner and children, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thompson and daughter of Columbia, Mr. and Mrs. Troy Teague and children of Ware Shoals, and Mr. and Mrs. Bill Jennings of Laurens. Mrs. James Mitchell of Green ville, spent Tuesday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lowry Wilson, prior to leaving for At lanta, Ga., where she will attend summer school at Emory Uni- versity.' • Among those who will be at tending the Methodist camp at Cleveland near Caesar’s Head this summer are L. H. Holland, Tommy Gordon, Patsy Simmons and Beth and Vernon Edwards. Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Plaxico, Sr., spent last week-end at Bon Clarken, and enruote they stop ped by Camp Greenville at Ce dar Mountain to pick up their granddaughter, Patty, who ac companied them. R. L. Plaxico, Jr., and son, Robert, spent last Saturday morning in Wilmington, N. C., where they visited the battleship USS North Carolina. Later that day they joined Mrs. Plaxico at Ocean Drive Beach where she had been chaperoning a house- party of Clinton high school girls. Mr. and Mrs. N. B. Warren and son, David, of Newberry, visited Mr. and Mrs. Grady Chandler and Mrs. R. S. Hor ton on Sunday. IN 4-H CONTEST Miss Kathy Berry, daughter of Mrs. Margaret Berry, was among contestants in the 4-H Club contest recently held in Laurens. Kathy was presented a blue ribbon for her butternut cake and also placed in the clothing and talent contests. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Jones of Blacksburg, spent the week end with their grandchildren, Gail, Barry, and Libby Smith, while their daughter and son- in-law, Mr .and Mrs. Milford Smith .attended the State Lions C lub convention in Charleston Mr. and Mrs. Billy Tiller have moved into their newlv purchased home on Elm Street. Mrs. Harry Bouknight is ac companying Miss Audi Stroud of Joanna, Miss Jane Boland and several girls of the Thorn- well High School to the state FHA convention in Rock Hill. Col. and Mrs. B. F. Wingard spent several days recently at Myrtle Beach. While enroute home they were guests of Mr. and Mrs .R. C. King in Dar lington. Billy Brooks Owens leaves this week-end for a five-week ROTC encampment at Fort Bragg, N. C. Bobby Smith of Columbia, has been visiting his father, F. Howard Smith, and other tittle friends in Clinton this week. Mr. and Mrs. R. Michael Turner and two of their chil dren, Cynthia and Clare, are spending the week at their cot tage on Lake Greenwood. Mrs. B. M. Anderson, Si\, has returned to her home in Rcidviilc after a visit with Miss Louise Kern and Mrs. Ray Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Dargan Frier son of Greensboro, N. C., are spending the week at the cottage of Dr. and Mrs. E. N. Sullivan on Lake Greenwood. Dr. and Mrs. Sullivan joined them for the day on Wednesday. Harry Sullivan, who has completed his first year at Episcopal High, Alexandria, Va., has returned home for the summer with his parents, Dr. and Mrs. E. N. Sullivan. Jim my Sullivan, a rising senior at Episcopal High, will,arrive in Clinton today after a vacation at Ocean Drive Beach and Pawley’s Island. Miss Marjorie Arnold and Mr. and Mrs .L. W. Rwtrl of Williamsburg, Va., are spend ing a few days with Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Arnold. Miss Ar nold, a student at William and Mary College, will return to Williamsburg where she will work this summer. Dr. and Mrs. Lee A. Blakely and children, Ricky and Lee, III, have returned to Fort Campbell, Ky., after spending two weeks with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lee A. Blakely. V. C. Crapps' of West Colum bia, and Mrs. V. O. Kelly of Pine Bluff, Ark., Mr. and Mrs. Harold Epting of Leesville, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Suber last Thursday. Capt. and Mrs. Frank C. Young, Jr., Frank m, and Jflft- elle of San Antonio, Texas, have left for Waterville, Maine, altar spending four days with Mi mother, Mrs. Frank C. Captain Young is connected Brooke General Hospital, Fort Sam Houston, Texas, and wfil continue studying opthalmoiogy at Colby College, Me., for three months, when he will return to Texas. Mrs. R. A. fushton of Mem phis, Tenn., arrived yesterday to visit her daughter and son-in- law, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Outs. Mrs. Ouzts and her mother will leave tomorrow for Savannah, Ga., where they will attend a wedding. Mr. and Mrs. John O’Neil and daughters have moved from Charleston to Clinton, where they are making their home at the King Apartments.
