On Tuesday Mr. Middle- ton joined her and they are now making their home In Columbia. Howard, who were here to attend the funeral of Mrs. Bessie Dodgen in Newberry last Wednesday. The deceased was a sister of Mrs. Belle Tew. Mark Tew of Fayetteville, N. C., and Mrs. Swanie Wicker also attend ed the funeral. SHOWER GIVEN Mrs. Shealy King of Clinton, who is the former Amelia Stroud, was honored with a lovely shower on Saturday evening at the club house. The recent bride was given many nice and useful gifts which she opened for the many guests to see. After they enjoyed appro priate games they were served refreshments by the hostesses, Mrs. Nicolos Kramm, Mrs. Faye Medlin, Mrs. Johnny Stroud and Mrs. Frank Hendrix. That is one month later than was announced. . CHURCH NEWS School of Misions The Epworth Methodist Church is having a school of missions each Sunday night at 7 o’clock Thomas. Youth—Mrs. Lavinia R Colley; and children—Mrs. J. B. Killian and Mrs. Floyd Abrams. On February 16th at the regular 11:00 o’clock worship service a retired missionary to Brazil, Bishop Cyrus D. Dawsey, will be the guest speaker. Following the service there will be a luncheon in the Fellowship Hall.
