Mrs. Reynolds, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Spil lers, is ill. Ray Snider of Charleston, spent the week-end with his pi- rents, Mr. and Mrs. John Sni der. Miss Brenda Fallow of Win- throp College, Rock Hill, visit ed her mother, Mrs. Mary Fal low, over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Young of Atlanta, Ga., spent the week end with Mr. Young’s sisters, Mrs. Harry Foster and Mrs. C. W. Windsor. Mrs. T. D. Jones, Mrs. Earl Carson, David and Cindy of Greenwood, visited Mrs. H. A. Adams Sunday. Mrs. C. W. Windsor is visit ing her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Brazill, in Columbia this week. Miss Sybil Windsor of Win- throp College, Rock Hill, visit ed her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Windsor, over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Young, Mrs. Harry Foster and Teresa visited Mrs. George Addy and Mrs. Daisy Boozer in Newberry Saturday. Mrs. Carolyn Fallow and children of Newberry, visited Mrs. Mary Fallow during the week-end. R. P. Spillers, brother of Rev. J. W. Spillers, is a patient at the General hospital in Greenville where he is seriously ill. Mrs. Belle Hames is conva lescing at home after being a patient at the Medical College hospital in Charleston for a few weeks. Ray E. McCoy has returned home after being a patient at the Cone Memorial hospital in Greensboro, N. C., for three Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Williams held a meeting Sunday after noon for the purpose of setting rules for the league. Approxi mately thirty ladies from the Clinton and Laurens area met at the Bowling Center. Plana are being made to association for this HALLOWEEN PARTIES Camp Fire Group Mrs. Belle Fallow entertained her Camp Fire group with a Halloween party last Monday night, October 28. Games were enjoyed by everyone, with the judging of the costumes as the highlight of the evening. Win ning prises were Linda Leop ard, first place; Sylvia Hughes, second place; and Teresa Fost er, third place. The hostesses for refreshments were Martha King and Shelia Lancaster. Mrs. Harry Foster and her Camp Fire group were guests. Mrs. Oweus Entertains Mrs. David Owens entertain, ed twenty-five guests Friday night with a Halloween party at her home on Jefferson Street. Gamas and a cake walk were enjoyed. A cake was given for the best costume. Cookies and punch were served by the host ess. CHURCH OF THE AIR The Hurricane Baptist and the pastor, Rev. C. E. Rusdl, had charge of the radio pro gram, ( “Church of the Air,’’ Sunday. Rev. James Huey was out of town. CHURCH STUDY COURSE Everyone is invited to attend the study course at Calvary Baptist Church tonight and Fri day at 7 o’clock. There is a place for everyone of all ages. T. White was in Greenwood last Monday on business. BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT KING Mr. and Mrs. James Ray King announce the birth of a son, James Ray, Jr., on Oct. 31 at Bailey Memorial Hospital. Mrs. King is the former Miss Cora Medlin. BOWLING LEAGUE MEET The Women’s Bowling League Cadet Wefiunt Cited At Clemson College Clyde L. Wehunt of Clinton, cadet captain and company com mander in the Army ROTC De partment of Clemson College, has been designated a “distin guished military student” for the current school year. To be so distinguished, a cadet must possess outstanding quali ties of leadership and high moral character, have exhibited a def inite aptitude fbr an interest in the military service, stand in the upper third of his ROTC class, be an above the average student who has attained an overall academic standing in the upper half of his college class, and have demonstrated initiative and leadership capacities through participation and achievement in campus and civic activities. Cadets selected as distinguish ed military students are eligible to apply for a commission in the regular army. Cadet Wehunt, an animal hus bandry major, expects to be commissioned a second lieuten ant in the regular army, infan try, in July 1964. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Wehunt, of Airport Road, Clinton.
