Parker, with Mrs. Guy Dukes, who is visiting her from Texas', is visiting Mrs. Herbert Link in Salisbury, N. C., this week. Mrs. John Weir, Miss Marie Weir and Mrs. David Word visit ed their daughter-in-law and sis ter-in-law, Mrs. Wilbur Weir, in the General hospital in Greenville Friday evening. Miss Barbara Roberts has re signed her position as assistant Home Demonstration Agent for Spartanburg County and will be here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Roberts, until her marriage next month. Miss Kay Roberts, who attends Cecil’s Bus iness College in Spartanburg, spent the week-end with her pa rents. ' S. J. Todd is visiting his son, Joe Todd, and Mrs. Todd in Rock Hill. Mrs. Emmie Thomas and son, Mickey, and grandchildren, Johnny and Ann Thomas, visited Mrs. Thomas’ daughter, Mrs. Johnny Simmons, and Mrs. Sim mons near Greer Sunday. Eldon Armstrong of Rock Hill, was the guest of his grandpa rents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ann- strong, over the week-end, com ing especially for the Clinton High-Rock Hill football game. Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Ledford and daughters of Gastonia, N. C., spent Sunday with the Arm strongs. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Ballard, Mrs. John Crowe, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. O’Shields visited Sunday with the family of Mrs. Dovey Whaley, their cousin, who died Friday in Laurens. Mrs. Virginia Wilson attended the Gilbert Beauty Show at the Wade Hampton Hotel in Colum bia during the week-end. Mrs. Wilson was winner of the door prize which was a wrist watch. Kenneth Trammell, HN, of Be- thesda, Md., spent the week-end with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell. On Sunday they visited Mrs. J. H. Seay and other relatives in Greenville. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Kellett and son of Enoree, Mr. and Mrs. B. O. Miller of Woodruff, were Sun day guests of Mr. and Mrs. Keith McGee. TO HAVE CLOTHING DAY Sunday has been set for mem bers to bring good, clean used clothing to the church to be sent to the Good Will Center in Co lumbia. On Sunday evening, Miss Gladys Farmer of the center will speak and show slides of the work there. The public is cordially invited to come and hear Miss Farmer, HOMECOMING AT CHURCH OF GOD The Lydia Church of God will have homecoming Sunday, begin ning with Sunday school at 10:00 a. m. Rev. W. J. Leslie of Iva, a former pastor of the church, will preach at the morning wor ship hour. Dinner will be served in the church yard, weather permitting, with everyone bringing dinner. Rev. Trank Pearson, pastor of the host church, extends an invi tation to everyone to attend. All former pastors and friends are given a special Invitation. A song service will be held in the afternoon, beginning around 2:90, to which the public is in vited. All singing groups are in vited to attend. CLASS MEETING TONIGHT The Willing Workers class of the Lydia Baptsit Church Sunday school will meet Thursday (to night) at 7:30 at the home of Mrs. Paul McCauley, with Mrs. Lida Howard as co-hostess. All members are urged to at tend. Mrs. H. W. Williams is class teacher. AUXILIARY HAS MEETING The Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Lydia Pentecostal Holiness Church met with Mrs. Corrie Quinn on Monday evening of last week, with twenty ladies present. The meeting was called to or der by the president, Mrs. Roscoe Bryan. During the business ses sion plans for completing the church nursery were discussed. The devotional was given by Mrs. Ralph Blackwell, and Mrs. Wayne Templeton spoke on per sonal witnessing. Refreshments were served dur ing the social ^our.
