Rites On Monday For John T. Stokes Cross Hill—John T. Stokes, 83, died Sunday at a Clinton hospital after eight moots of illness. A native of Greenville County who had lived in Laurens County most of his life, son of the late Dr. William Henry and Frances Emily Fuller Stokes, he was a member of Mountvillc Presbyter ian Church. He was married twice. His first marriage was to the former Miss Verna Clinkcsales of Abbeville. Surviving from this marriage are two daughters, Mrs. Frances Stakes of Washington, D. C., and Mrs. Elizabeth S. Mullins of At lanta, Ga. His second marriage was to Miss Elizabeth Harris of Ander son, who survives him. Surviving also are two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Hunter of Laurans and Dr. Ruth Stokes of Mountville; three grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Funeral services were conduct ed Monday at 3 p.m. at Gray Fu neral Home in Clinton by Rev. Roy Coker and Rev. Billie Har ris. Burial was in Mountville Presbyterian Cemetery.
