C., has been spending a few days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Horace Smith. Mrs. David Owens has been a patient at Bailey Memorial Hos pital. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Farmer had as their guests Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Fred Putnam of Joan na, Mr. and Mrs. Landrum Weathers of Greenwood. Coming especially to see their new grand son and npehew were Mrs. Sara Cheek, Mr. and Mrs. Don Jones of Greenwood. The proud parents are Mr. and Mrs. Randall Farm er, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Farmer. Mr. and Mrs. Claud Rushe of Greenwood, were supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Cox Friday night. Mrs. W. E. McLendon, Mrs. Bill Dees and Dolly were recent visitors in Greenville, Tenn. Mr. and Mrs. Brevard Patter son were among those from Clin ton attending the Dixie Youth baseball tournament in Florence last week. Mrs. G. H. Major and Laura were visitors in Greenwood last Wednesday. Miss Diane Wilson of Rock Hill, is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Coley Campbell (or a few days. Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Leo Riser and Louie Thornley spent several days fishing at Santee-Cooper last week. Friends of Mrs. Ben Hardman will be interested to know she is Improving after surgery at Bailey Memorial Hospital. FIDELIS CLASS MEETS The Fidelis Sunday school class of Calvary Baptist Church held the regular monthly meeting last Thursday night at the home of Mrs. Edgar BaUew in Lake- wood. After the business was dis cussed a covered dish supper was enjoyed. Mrs. Joel Cox serves as teacher of the group. 75TH ANNIVERSARY On Monday evening, August 5, members of the Calvary Baptist Church Woman’s Missionary Un ion enjoyed a tea in the social hall in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the organi zation. MAUDE BRYSON Correspondent Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Troy Watts last week were their duagh- ter and son-in-law, Capt. and Mrs. Howard Byers, who have been stationed in France for over three years. This was Mrs. Byers’ first visit home in that time. Also visiting for several days with Mr. and Mrs. Watts were Rev and Mrs. Wayne Wiggins of Ft. Worth, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Carter spent several days last week in Erhardt with Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Kinard. During the past week Mrs. Mark Pitts and sons from Aiken visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Miller. Mrs. B. P. Watts, accompanied by her daughters Settle and Julia, spent last week with her daughter and son-in-law,. Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Chants in Pittsburgh, Pa. Mrs. W. N. Bobo of Greenwood spent last week with her daugh ter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Lynch. Mrs. Olin Stewart and children are spending this week in Spar tanburg with her sister, Mrs. Frank Oakley and mamily. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Finley during the past weekend were Mrs. A. D. Woods and Frances of Belton, Gene and Carol Crawford of Ware Shoals and the Buchanan family of Barnwell. Mrs. W. H. Finley is visiting her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hays, in St. Paul Minnesota. Miss Carolyn Burns and Miss Codie Simmons are visiting in Aiken this week. Edgar Benjamin enjoyed a visit with Mr. and Mrs. Edward W. Stewart of Long Island, N. Y. oa Lake Greenwood recently. Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Finley and family are visiting in Savan nah, Ga., this week.
