Mrs. N. J. Sanders of Palatka, Fla., spent the week-end with her son and daughter-in-law, Rev. and Mrs. M. J. Sanders. Mrs. B. C. Revis, J. D. Revis, Mr. and Mrs. Benny Tucker, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Webb have been in Columbia several times (hir ing the past week to be with their son and brother, Clyde Revis, who is very ill in a hospital there. Mrs. Virginia Wilson and C. J. Blackwell visited Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Buekhelster in Greenwood Sunday. They have just returned to Greenwood after his being stationed in Bermuda. Mrs. Estelle Harrison of Clin ton, visited Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Smith Saturday. Mrs. Mamie Steading of Greer, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Ray Campbell, and Mr. Camp bell. Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Sizemore of Fort Bragg, N. C., were re cent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Revis. Mrs. J. T. Whitmore and Mrs. Jimmy Earl Gregory were Fri day visitors of their mother and grandmother, Mrs. Eva Rhodes, in Woodruff. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Abercrom bie spent the week-end with their daughters, Mrs. Joe Carroll in Pendelton, and Mrs. Harold Clardy in Greenville, and their families. Mrs. R. G. Johnson spent sev eral days the past week in Spar tanburg with her daughter, Mrs. Juanita Coker, going especially for commencement exercises of the James Byrnes High School where her granddaughter, Jac queline Coker, was a member, of the graduating class. Zu Mrs. Clarence Hinson was in Great Falls on Wednesday of last week due to the iiIimhuf of her brother, Robert Dickerson. Mrs. Virginia Wilson recently attended the Gilbert Beauty Show in Charlotte, N. C. David Word, Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam Weir visited the Shiriners hospital in Greenville Sunday. Mr. Weir is to be initiated into the Hejaz Shrine in Greenville to day. Mrs. W. T. Smith of Decatur, Ga., spent the past week with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Goss. She attended the graduation exercises at Clinton High School where her nephew, Gary Goss, was a grad uate. Gary and Warren Goss and Nathan Gilstrap accompanied her home for the week-end. G. C. Parrish, Jr., of Aiken, spent the past week with his pa rents. On Thursday Misses Carol Parrish and Elaine Jones of Aik en, came down and on Saturday Mrs. Parrish joined her husband and daughter here to accompany them home on Sunday. She also visited her father, H. W. Wil liams, and Mrs. Williams here. Miss Harriet Wilson of Furman University, Greenville, Miss Jan ice Goss of Winthrop College, Rock Hill, Miss Kay Roberts of Cecil's Business College, and Mack Gaffney of Clemson Col lege, are home for the summer. Mrs. Mabel Roberts of Foun tain Inn, visited her brother-in- law and sister. Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Motte, last Thursday. Mrs. Odie Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. Preston Carroll and chil dren visited Mr. Nelson at the Veterans hospital in Columbia Sunday. Miss Marion Ballard of Whit ten Village, is home for the sum mer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Ballard. Mrs. J. H. Seay and Miss Fero- line Seay of Greenville, are spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Seay. CLASS METTING LAST WEEK > The Willing Workers Sunday school class of the Lydia Bap tist Church held the May class meeting last Thursday evening in the church social hall. Mrs. Sid ney Oakley gave the devotional for the evening. After the business session a so cial hour was enjoyed, and Mrs. C. R. Kuykendall, whose birth day was in May, was presented gifts. Mrs. Hugh Ballard and Mrs. Lillie Belle Miller were hostesses. PARTIES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE Dale Campbell Celebrates Darlene Vanderford will have a birthday June 9. Happy Anniversary to Mr. and Mrs. Martin Boozer today. Saturday afternoon, Mrs. Hil da Campbell entertained with a party in celebration of the sixth birthday of her daughter, Dale. After several outdoor games the fifteen guests were invited into the dining room for refresh ments. Dale’s birthday cake was iced in light green and was topped with a doll surrounded by six candles. The cake was cut and served with ice cream and cold drinks. Mrs. E. C. Burdette, Dale’s grandmother, and Mrs. I-*™** Gates assisted Mrs. Campbell in entertaiitthg. Eighteen guests enjoyed an af ternoon of games and contests. Donnie’s birthday cake was cut and served with ice cream, sand wiches and cold drinks. He was remembered with gifts from friends and relatives. Throe Year-Old Has Party Airs. Silas Romine and hsr brother, James Birchmore, were hostess and host for a birthday party for Mrs. Romine’s son, Eddie, on Saturday afternoon at her home. Eddie was three years old June 3. Fifteen small folk enjoyed an hour of playing together before being served party refreshments. Eddie received many nice gifts. The program was in obser vance of the 75th anniversary of Woman’s Mission Union of South ern Baptist Convention and the 50th anniversary of First Bap tist Church. Joanna. Mrs. L. T. Lawson, program chairman, led the group in think ing of world needs. Miss Etta Adams led the devotion and Mrs. W. J. Dunlap looked at 75 years ago. Mrs. R. L. Francis was his torian. She gave interesting and informative facts of the church and missionary society. Special recognition to former presidents were made by Mrs. Bessie Hamm for Mrs. W. W. Hair, deceased; Mrs. Frank Phil lips for Mrs. L. H. Poag; Mrs. Rolfe Clark for Mrs. W. A. Moor head; Mre Nathan Brazel for Mrs. J. J. Clark; Mrs. Harold Murphy for Mrs. E. J. M. U. colors was made and served by Miss Ruth Hair. Punch was ser ved by Mrs. Bill Byars. Flowers in the W. M. U. colors were arranged by Mrs. J. B. Johnson. Mementoes in gold were made by Mr*. Mack Templeton. These were given to presidents and peo ple with circles named for them. Linda and Sue Davenport play ed piano music during the recep tion. Mrs. Ruth Mitchell greeted guests. Mrs. Billy Adkerson pre sided at the register and Miss Melinda Stroud invited guests In to the recreation room. 16 PC Students Become Members Of Honor Societies Four seniors and 12 sophomores have been recognized for mem bership in Presbyterian College’s two academic honor societies, it was announced today. Sigma Kappa Alpha, exclusive for those seniors who have com pleted at least six semesters with a grade-point ratio of 3.2 or bet ter out of a possible 4.00, in cludes those members of the graduating class: Bobby Pieph- off of Greenville; Louis Powell of Wallace, N.
