Mrs. Ernest Chaney has re turned from a several months visit with her daughter, Mrs. S. P. Bee man and Mr. Bee man in Pittsburgh, Pa.. She was called home due to the death of her sister, Mrs. R. L. Cole. Mr. and Mrs. George Lane were called to Avohdale Estates, Ga., yesterday on account of the death of the former’s grandmoth er, Mrs. Maggie Walker. Mrs. R. C. Hamer of Charles ton, is visiting her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. R. P. TO LEAD GIRL’S SCOUT CAMP Mrs. Richard Ulrich of Clinton, member of the Juliette Low Re gion Six Committee, will be unit leader for a new Counselor-In- Training unit to be given at Greenville Council of Girl Scout’s Camp Wabak. Miss Ruth Holland, student at Blue Mountain College, Blue Mountain, Miss., will be home for spring holidays next Friday. Ruth is the daughter of Mrs. John B. Holland, and plans to work in Arizona this summer in Mission work for the B. S. U. Claudfe M. Lawson of Lawson Furniture Co. in Joanna has re turned from a two-day Drapery Clinic and Decorating School con ducted by Norman’s Custom Draperies of Salisbury, North Carolina. NEW RESIDENTNS Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Steppe recently moved to odr city from Hendersonville, N.C. They* are making their new home on Lake Wood Dr. Mr. Steppe is labora tory technician at Bailey Memo rial Hospital. Clintonians attending the Fred Waring Program at Furman University Monday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Warden, Mr. and Mrs. James Von Hollen, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Hogan, Dr. and Mrs. Newton Jones, and Larry Cork. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Wilson, Mr and Mrs. J. Ferdinand Jacobs, David Boland, Mr. and Mrs. Rob ert Hamer, Kathmy Dicus, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Sadler spent the past weekend at Pawley Island. Eugene Galloway, of Jackson, ville. Fla., spent several days here this week with his brothers, Ashby and C E. Galloway, and his son. Edward Galloway, stu dent at Presbyterian College. Mr. and Mrs. Doc Buchanan of Joanna and Mrs. J. Platte Prather were the overnight guests of Mrs. J. W. Gibson in Swannanoa, N. C., on Tuesday, and also visited in Asheville, N. C. Misses Jane Milam, Janet Pinson and Joe Gettys were in Davidson, N. C., during the week-end where they attended the dances at Davidson Col lege. Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Temle- ton, David Templeton, Hap Mc- Sween, Bubba Ray and William Milam were in Charleston over the week-end and attended Corps Day activities at The Citadel. ; Steve Turner, student at Co lumbia Bible College, spent the week-end with his mother, Mrs. Marvin Turner. Also visiting the Turners on Sunday were her mother and sister, Mrs. Mamie Stevenson and Miss Elizabeth Stevenson, of Winns- boro. Miss Becky Speake is a patient at Bailey Memorial Hospital with a broken limb sustained in an accident. Dr. and Mrs. Fred Holcombe spent the week-end jtvitif their son, Joey, at Warm Springs, Ga Mr. and Mrs, W. L. Hubbard spent the week-end in Myrtle Beach visiting Mr. Hubbard’s sister, Mrs. F. G. Hughes. Mrs. J. B. Wilder and Mrs. J. K. Haselden went to Anderson to get Mrs. Haselden’s daughter, Lois, student at Anderson Col lege. From there they visited friends in Seneca. J. K. Haselden visited his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Haselden, in Co lumbia Sunday. Miss Essie Davdison has been a patient at the Greenville Gen- ral Hospital. She is how con valescing at home. Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Wells, Sr., spent a few days last week ih Miami, Fla., with the for mer’s brother, Frank Wells, and Mrs Wells. Mr. Wells is seriously ill and a patient at the Jackson Memorial Hospital there. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin De Young visited Mr. and Mrs. William Godfrey in Laurens Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Woods were guests of Mr. and Mrs, Tommy DeYoung:* at Clemson Sunday. Dr.' and Mrs. David T. Mixon and children, Phyllis and David, spent the week-end visiting rela tives in Conway and Loris. Mrs. lone Wallace, music di rector at Whitten Village, will be on a program March 22 for the council of exceptional chil dren workshop in Greenvill^. Mr. and Mrs. Magness Byers of Charlotte, N. Ricketts of Greenville, spent the week-end with her sister, Mrs.- Robert Wysor. Mary Jane Jacobs, freshman at Coker College, Hartsville. is Powell, who is stationed at the Naval Air Station. The chapel choir of the First Presbyterian Church held its first performance Sunday for the morning worship service. The choir was organized and con ducted by Mrs. Robert Wysor, HI. AT ATLANTA MEET Mrs. Helen T. Vass spent sev eral days in Atlanta, Ga., last week where she attended a com mittee meeting of the Southern Presbyterian Church.
