Revis, Clyde Revis, Kathy Webb, Mr. and Mrs. Ben ny Tucker were recent visitors of Mrs. Revis’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Maples, in Salem. Mr. Maples has been very ill, but is improving. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Seay and family, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell were in Greenville Sat urday to visit their mother, Mrs. J. H. Seay, and sister, Miss Feroline Seay. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kitchens and sons returned home Monday night after being in Duncan over the week-end due to the death of Mrs. Kitchens’ brother, R. W. McGaha. Capt. and Mrs. James Drake and children visited his mother, Mrs. H. W. Williams, and Mr. Williams during the week-end. Capt. Drake has retired from the U. S. Army, receiving a dis charge at Bedford, Va. The fam- i 1 y will make their home in Greenville. * Benny Tucker and Rev. M. J. Sanders, counselors for the RA’s, accompanied Andy Ellis, Billy Harvey, Timmy and Malcolm Sanders to the RA Congress at the First Baptist Church in Co lumbia on Friday evening. Mrs. John Word, Mrs. Grier Todd, Mr. and Mrs. David Word and Miss Sue Word attended the funeral services of Mrs. Frank Reed, a sister-in-law of Mrs. John Word and Mrs. Todd, in Whitmire Saturday. Mr. and Mrs* Jimmy Berry, Jr., Mike and Kay, of Fork Shoals, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bodie. On Satur day Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pat terson and Chucky of Inman, were the Bodie’s visitors. Mrs. Mary Patterson returned home with Mr. and Mrs. Patterson for the week. Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Williams visited his son, Edward Wil liams, and Mrs. Williams in Newberry Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. David R. Coker and Marvin visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Smith near Greer Sunday. Friends will be interested to know Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cok er and family, formerly of Au gusta, Ga., have returned to Clintpn to make their home. Mrs. George Wade, Miss Louise Wade, and Mrs. S. B. Cooper of Great Falls, spent the week-end with their son and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Cooper, Miss Linda Boswell of Rome, Ga., spent the week-end with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs., F. L. Thornburg. Miss Harriet Wilson was home for the week-end with her moth er, Mrs. Virginia Wilson, and her grandfather, C. J. Blackwell. Miss Wilson is a freshman at Furman University, Greenville. BECKY COOPER HONORED ON FIFTH BIRTHDAY Mrs. Calvin Cooper was host ess to several young friends of her daughter, Becky, on Satur day afternoon at the Lydia Com munity Building in celebration of Becky’s fifth birthday. The children enjoyed games and contests before party re freshments of ice cream, cookies, candy and cold drinks were seryj- ed. The young honoree receved many nice gifts from her friends and relatives. Out of town guests for the party were Becky’s grandmoth ers, Mrs. S. B. Cooper and Mrs. George Wade, and aunt, Miss Louise Wade, of Great FaUs; An nette Huckaby of Spartanburg; and Chucky Patterson of Inman. DAUGHTER HONORED WITH PARTY “Cookie” Johnson was honored with a party in celebration of her 4th birthday Saturday after noon at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Johnson. A number of little friends en joyed the happy occasion with “Cookie.” After several games the chil dren were served party refresh- mnets. “Cookie’s” cake was a beau tiful white with pink and blue decorations. The local group is taking an active part in the County Elec tric Club. On last night, the was attended by Dianne .
