urday to visit their mother, Mrs.
J. H. Seay, and sister, Miss
Feroline Seay.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Kitchens
and sons returned home Monday
night after being in Duncan over
the week-end due to the death of
Mrs. Kitchens’ brother, R. W.
McGaha.
Capt. and Mrs. James Drake
and children visited his mother,
Mrs. H. W. Williams, and Mr.
Williams during the week-end.
Capt. Drake has retired from
the U. S. Army, receiving a dis
charge at Bedford, Va. The fam-

funeral services of Mrs. Frank
Reed, a sister-in-law of Mrs.

Shoals, spent Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Bodie. On Satur
day Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pat
terson and Chucky of Inman,
were the Bodie’s visitors. Mrs.
Mary Patterson returned home
with Mr. and Mrs. Patterson for
the week.

ON FIFTH BIRTHDAY
Mrs. Calvin Cooper was host
ess to several young friends of
her daughter, Becky, on Satur
day afternoon at the Lydia Com
munity Building in celebration of
Becky’s fifth birthday.
The children enjoyed games
and contests before party re
freshments of ice cream, cookies,
candy and cold drinks were seryj-
ed.

“Cookie” Johnson was honored
with a party in celebration of
her 4th birthday Saturday after
noon at the home of her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Johnson.
A number of little friends en
joyed the happy occasion with
“Cookie.”
After several games the chil
dren were served party refresh-
mnets.
“Cookie’s” cake was a beau
tiful white with pink and blue
decorations.
The young honoree was re
