Christmas decorations were used used throughout the hut. The table was covered with a red doth and centered with a white net Christmas tree. Refresh ments were served buffet sytJe during the evening. Dancing was enjoyed to the music of the Devilaires. The hosts and hostesses were assisted by their parents, Mr. and Mr. Bill Lee, Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Reddeck, and Mrs. Fred Pitts. Has New Year's Eve Supper On New Year’s Eve Miss Mary Locke Simons entertained a group of her friends with an informal dinner party at her home on Missallie Drive. The table centerpieces were ar rangements of holly and crystal bells. Mrs. Simons and Miss Rose Lee assisted Mary Locke in entertaining the guests. Entertdin With New Years Open House Lt. Col. and Mrs. Richard Ul- drick and Major and Mrs. Jo seph Scott entertained guests at an open house on New Year’s Day. The open house was held between the hours of 3:00 and 6:00 at the Uldrick home. The home Was beautifully decorated with arrangements of candles and magnolia leaves. Punch, coffee, and party dain ties were served to the guests., Mrs. Andy Young Has Fridge Luncheon Last Friday afternoon Mrs. Andy Young entertained mem bers of her card club and other friends at a bridge luncheon at her home. Rev. J. Herbert .Thomas heard the vows. Mrs. Jimmy Riser, organist, a n d / Jimmy Riser, soloist,, of Greenville, presented a program of wed ding music. The bride, lovely in a street length satin dress with a bell skirt, alencon lace bodice with brown wool sheath suit with brown accessories. The bride, a graduate of Clin ton High School and Anderson Junior College, is employed as a secretary at the Alester G. Furman Co. in Greenville. The groom graduated from the Whitmire High School and the University of South Caro lina. He is a civilian employee of Donaldson Air Force Base, Greenville. She wore a street length dress in royal blue taffeta which featured a bell skirt, and carried a blue and white bou quet. Lloyd Winston Bain was his son’s best man. Gene Robert Bain and James Howard Bain, brothers of the groom, were ushers. Rhame honored her daughterin-law, Mrs. Don Rhame, Jr., with a coffee on Thursday at the home of Mrs. Cecil Wilson December 27. The receiving rooms were beauti fully decorated throughout with pink gladioli, white snapdrag ons,^ carnations, mums, and Better Times roses. On the din ing room table was an am broidered white Irish linen cloth. An epergne adorned the center of the table holding white snaps, pink carnations, roses, and pom poms. The guests were greeted at the door by Mrs. J. B. Hart. Next was Mrs. Rhame intro ducing her duaghter-in-law to the guests. Assisting Mrs. Rhame in entertaining were Mrs, Kenneth Baker, Mrs. J. B. Templeton, Mrs. Chick Gal loway, Mrs. Edna Jacobs, Mrs. Goyne Simpson, Mrs. Irby Hipp and Mrs. F. P. Thompson of Laurens. Out-of-town guests included Mrs. Herb Hammett of Nash ville, Tenn. and Mrs. David Nash of Richmond, Va. Macdonalds Entertain With Buffet Supper On Wednesday night, Decem ber 26, Dr. and Mrs. James Macdonald entertained several couples with a buffet supper. Christmas decorations prevail ed as arrangements of Christ mas fruit and a Christmas tree adorned the living and dining, rooms. Snelgrove-Stewort Vows Said On Dec. 27 Miss Myra Ann Snelgrove, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wil liam Ready Snelgrove, and Lt. Donald Wayne Stewart, son of Mr. and Mrs. Marvin, Cunning- i^ham Stewart, were married De cember 27 at Bailey Memorial Methodist Church. Rev. Julian Weisner, pastor of the bride and groom, officiated at the double ring ceremony. Only members of immediate families and a few close friends were present at the ceremony. Music was provided by Miss Joanne Todd, organist. The candles were lighted by Thorn ton Stewart, fcrothef of the groom, and Jimmy Austin of Cross Hill. Marvin Stewart served as his son’s best man. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a two-piece dress of white wool. Her shoul der length veil' of white tulle was attached to a petal-shaped headpiece of sequins and pearls. The bridal bouquet consisted of a white orchid on a Bible with ribbon streamers tied in love knots. Her only ornament was a pearl necklace, a gift of the groom. Following the wedding a small reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents on Pitts Street. Later in the eve ning the couple left for a wed ding trip to Asheville, N. C. Mrs. Stewart received her ed ucation in the Clinton schools, attended Winthrop College, and will graduate in August from Presbyterian College with a B.A. ^degree in English^ Lt. Stewart received his education in the Clinton schools and was graduated last June from Pres byterian College with a B.S. dev gree in business administraiton. He received his commission at the time and is now stationed at Fort Benning, Ga. He will leave for duty in Fairbanks, Alaska, in early March. Mrs. Stewart will continue to make her home with her pa rents until she completes her studies in August, at which time she plans to join her hus band in Alaska. . . * J Mi M. In a ceremony solemnized in skirt, accented ^by a bow in the St. John’s Lutheran Church on Sunday, December 23, at, 4 o’clock in the afternoon, Miss Martha Sue Boyce of 331 Oak land Ave., Rock Hill, became the bride of Melvin Guy Misen- heimer, Jr., of Rock Hill. The ^bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Elbert front. She _ carried a candelab rum 'surrounded by holly. Her headpiece was a wreath of holly and mistletoe. ' BRIDEMAIDS The bridesmaids, Miss l?oyce, sister of the bride Miss Jean Bryant of Winthrop College, Miss Nancy Huff of ss Elaine ride, and^ Winthrop \ Elveen of Depew, N. Y. f and Miss Dolly Crouch of Green wood, wore costumes identical to that of the honor attendant. The flower girl, Allison Falls of York, was dressed in white over green, with mistletoe and holly head wreath, and carried a basket of rosebuds. The father of the bridegroom was best man. Ushers were Dan Misenheimer, brother of the groom, of York; Bobby Falls, York; Frank Buolware, Rock Hill, and Marvin Rash, Chester. Follo'wing the wedding trip, the couple will be at home' at 175. Ebenezer, Road, Rock Hill, where Mr, Misenheimer holds the position of coach and teach er at Winthrop Training School. Mrs. Misenheimer is a 1962"' graduate of Wnithrop Cbllege, where she was listed in Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities. She taught science in York Junior High School this year. Mr. Misenheimer is a gradu ate of Presbyterian Junior Col lege, MaxtonT^TT'C., and Pres byterian College, where he was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. J, Gordon Peery in. a setting of bridal white, featur ing a white background with altar entwined with ivy, white satin kneeling benches and white baskets of gladioli. Before the ceremony a pro gram of music was given by Gerald Woodruff, organist, and Miss Christine McSw’ain, - solo ist. The candles were lighted by Jeff Hogan of Joanna, and Jim- 1 idfiy Bowman of Hickory, N. C., cousins of the bride. Given in marriage by ’ her father, the bride wore a white satin dress with lace around the neckline, long sleeves and chapel train, accented by two bows. Her fingertip feil of il lusion was attached to a crown of seed pearls. Her flowers were a cascade of white gardenias, and her only oranment was a single strand of pearls, the gift of the bridegroom. Her sister, Miss ’ Barbara Boyce of Winthrop College, Rock Hill, was h«er maid of honor. J. L. Holland officiated at the marriage of Miss Norma Ann Thompson and George Milton Jacks Friday at 5:00 p. m. at the North Harper Street Church of God in Laurens. Mr. and Mrs. Jacks will make their home In Madison Heights, Lynchburg, Va., where the groom is a nuclear physicist for the Atomic Energy Division of Babcock and Wilcox. Mr. Jacks is the son of Mr. and Mrs. I.-E. Jacks o^Mount- ville. A graduate of Mountville High School, he has a B.S. de gree from Presbyterian College, and an M.S. from Clemson. For A moon to North Carolina Entertain On New Year's Eve * Mr. and Mrs. John Bledsoe, and Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Thomason entertained New Year’s Eve with a dinner at the home of the latter. The home was lovely with tra ditional New Year’s decorations, in white and gold. The table was centered with a baby New Year and bells, from whfch dinner was served buffet style.
