Mack Gaffney and Barry Whit man were week-end visitors in Rock Hill. Sp4 and Mrs. Kenneth Meeks and son Kenny of Fort Jackson, Columbia, spent the week-end with the former’s mother, Mrs. Frances Meeks. Mrs. Clarence Hinson and Ma rie spent Wednesday and Thurs day with her brother and sister- in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James Gallman in Great Falls going because of the illness of Mr. Gallman. Mrs. R. E. Whitmire, Mrs. Allen White Sr., and Mrs. White Jr., visited Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Shultz in Easley Saturday. Mrs. White Sr. remained until Sun day. She attended the Ragsdale- Davenport wedding in Honea Path Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Trammell were in Laurens Tuesday for the funeral services of his uncle, Paul R. Prince. Tuesday evening they visited their brother-in-law, Royce Smith and also Claude Gilstrap Jr., patients in Self Memorial Hospital'in Gresnwood. Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Burdette, Mrs. HUda Campbell and child- dren. Sherry, Dale and Steve at tended a birthday dinner for Mrs. Burdette’s mother, Mrs. W. S. Manning in Iva on Sunday the 11th, Mrs. Manning was cele brating her 88th birthday. In the afternoon Mrs. Burdette at tended the Prince-Adams wed ding. Mrs. Mattie Harvey, Mr. Mar vin Harvey and Mrs. A. M. Shu mate visited Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rowe in Henderson, N. C. Sun day. Mrs. Claude Gilstrap, Jr. and Nathan have visited Mr. Gilstrap in the Self Memorial Hospital in Greenwood at intervals during his illness. Mrs. J. B. Vanderford and daughters, Shelia and Darlene spent Saturday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. H. Smith in Union. Mr. E. C. Burdette, Mrs. Hilda Campbell, Mrs. Herman Bur dette, Mrs. A. R. ivester and Mrs. Marion Turner attended a Pink and Blue Shower, honoring Mrs. Vernon Ivester In Spartan burg, Tuesday evening of last week. Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Roberts were in Charlotte, N. C. Thurs day evening enroute they sloped at Winthrop College and Misses Kay Roberts and Linda Butner accompanied them to Charlotte. Mr. Roberts attended an S. T. A. meeting while the ladles attended a movie. Miss Roberts will be home Wednesday for the Thanks- igiving holidays, Mrs. Barbara Roberts will be home Thursday for the holidays. On Sunday morning she will leave to at tend the national J. H. A. and F. F. A. meetings in Chicago, 111. Miss Roberts is Assistant Home Demonstration Agent of Spartanburg County. She has also visited their sister, Mrs. Emma Knight who is a patient in the Anderson Memorial Hos pital. Mrs. Hugh Ballard and Mrs. Sarah Jenkins attended the fun eral services for W. E. Rowe in Hendersonville on Monday. WOMAN’S CLUB HAS MEETING The November meeting of the Lydia Woman's Club was held Thursday evening at the Com munity Building. Mrs. Keith Mc Gee, president presided during the business session. The devotional on Thanksgiv ing was given by Miss Nellie Os borne. The club plans to have their Christmas super Dec. 11 at the Panarama Lodge. CAMPFIRE THANKSGIVING DINNER GIVEN The seventh grade Jr. High Campfire Girls with their lead ers, Mrs. Clarence Hinson and Mrs. James Ammons were hos tesses to their families for n Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday evening at the Cooununity Build ing. A delicious chicken supper was enjoyed by the 22 present. After being served from the places at the beautifully decor- buffet table each one found their ated dining table. The girls had made pine-cone turkeys which with mums, long leaf pine and bright fall leaves decorated the dining room and lounge.
