HaU. of Deland, Fla., spent a week re cently with Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Prater. During their stay here, the family motored to,Chimney Rock, N. C., for a day. On Fri day Mr. and Mrs. Prater, Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Crayne, Linda and Barry Crayne, of Whitmire, enjoyed an overnight visit at Folly Beach. Mrs. Oeila Russell, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pedicord and Carlton Wehunt spent their vacation vis iting points of interest in the mountains of North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia. B. R. Bowen has returned to Chicago, 111., following two weeks visit with Mrs. Bowen and fam ily Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hunnicutt and E. H. Hunnicutt were Sun day visitors last week of the lat ter’s sister, Mrs. Bell McCalister in Due West. Mr. and Mrs. P. F. Swygert and grandson, Don, and Donnie Estes vacationed recently at points of interest in Florida. Mrs. Lila Phillips and Mrs. Lilian Wright were recent visi tors of Mr. and Mrs. D. P. San- taniello in Beaufort, N. C. S. F. C. apd Mrs. Forrest Brawley and family, of Pember ton, N. J., were recent visitors of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Brawley. On Sunday of last week the Brawley family visited Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Brawley in Buffalo. A. 3-c. Ernie Strand, station ed in Marshville, Calif., has re turned to his base following a two weeks visit with his mother, Mrs. Violet Strand. W. K. Waits was a week-end visitor in Atlanta, Ga. Monday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Waits were Mrs. Julian Gardner and children, Karen and Wayne, of Spartanburg. Karen remained for the week. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Nabors recently vacationed in Miami and Daytona Beach, Fla. Jim, Joe and Adgie Abrams spent the week-end with their aunt, Miss Doris Abrams in Greenville. Miss Abrams accom panied the boys home Sunday. Mrs. Neuffer Crestwell, Mrs. Evelyn Simmons and daughter, Dixie Ann, of Clinton, and Mrs. Homer Jacks spent Saturday in Columbia with Mrs. W. M. Free man, who recently underwent sur gery at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D. C. Mrs. J. L. Abrams and Linda, Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Attaway, of Whitmire, attended the Harris- Attaway family reunion on Sun day at Union Grove Church near Williamston. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Willing ham and children, of Rock Hill, are visiting their parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. F. McCarthy, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Willingham. Miss Sue O'Dell and Jeff are spending this week with their aunt, Mrs. George Jones and Mr. Jones in Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Carson Nabors and children are vacationing this week at Myrtle Beach. Mrs. Willie O’Dell and Mrs. Roberta Templeton visited friends in Whitmire Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. L. R. Thompson attended the S. C. Beauty Pag eant in Greenville on Saturday. Sunday guests of the Thompsons were Mr. and Mrs. Billy Thomp son and family, of Switzer. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil O'Dell visited her mother, Mrs. J. H. Craft and Mr. Craft Sunday in Silverstreet. The occasion was Mrs. Craft’s 75th birthday. Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Holsonback and children also visited ’‘Granny” on her birthday. Capt. and Mrs. Charles Gallo way, of Augusta, Ga., spent the week-end with her parents, Mr and Mrs. John Flow. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sineath and sons, Darren and Ronnie, and Miss Barbara Holder, of Clinton, visited her parents over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Hunnicutt celebrated their 59th wedding an niversary on July 4 Clifton Holsonback observed a birthday on July 16. Mrs. Deri Jacks will observe a birthday on July 27. Miss Kathy Salter and Miss Vickie Boyd spent several days last week with the former’s sis ter, Mrs. Matt Coleman and Mr Coleman in Saluda. W. S. C. S. HAS MEETING The Woman's Society of Chris tian Service of Epworth Metho dist Church held their July meet ing on Tuesday evening of last week in the Educational Build ing of the church. Hostesses for the evening were Mrs. J. L Abrams and Mrs.' Homer Jacks. The president, Mrs. Cecil O’Dell, presided over the bus iness session. Various officers gave their reports. Among the items of business discussed was the parsonage project. Members voted to buy new curtains and a committee was appointed to see about buying several pieces of furniture. Following the business, Mrs. J. L. Abrams gave the devotion al. The topic, "God’s Word and Our Words.” In the absence of the program chairman. Mrs. Cecil O'Dell, as sisted by Mrs. Rudolf Prater, gave an interesting program, centering on "Let The Word Of Our Mouth Be Accepted Unto Our God.” During the social hour the hos tesses served the group refresh ments of a salad plate, cake and drinks. DICKEY-EPTING RITES ON SUNDAY Miss Essie Mae Dickey, of Jo anna, and William Holland Ept- ing, of Newberry, were married Saturday, July 15, at 4:30 p. m. in Clinton at the home of the bride’s pastor, Dr. C. B. Betts, who performed the double ring ceremony. The bride chose for her wed ding dress a baby blue cotton sheer embroidered in white with full gathered skirt. The princess bodice featured a low V neckline in front and beck with short cap sleeves. Her head piece was fash ioned from the same material as the dress, trimmed in white with short veil. Her accessories were white. She wore a corsage made of pink rose buds, white net and ribbons. The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charlie B. Dickey, of Joanna The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Holland Ept- ing, of Newberry. Following a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, they will reside at the groom's home near New berry. Vincent, Jr., announce the birth of a daughter on July 14 at the Jo anna Hospital. WOMAN’S AUXILIARY HAS MEETING The Woman’s Auxiliary of the Pentecostal Holiness Church held their meeting on Tuesday eve- ning of last week at the home of the hostess, Mrs. C. S. Petty. The president, Mrs. John W. Warren, presided over the bus iness, at which time officers were elected for the coming year. The program was presented by Miss Elaine Petty. Following the program the hos tess served refreshments of ice cream, cake and drinks. The next meeting will be held on July 25 at the home of Mrs. C. L. Wehunt.
