PHONE 833-8841 Money Order, Special Delivery Fees To Rise Increase# in money order and special delivery tees will become effective July 1, Postmaster W. D. Adair has announced. . No changes in special delivery tea for first class mall are plan ned. Special delivery feet for second, third and fourth class matter will be increased by 10 cents in each of the non-first class fat brackets. Current non-first class tea art: up to 2 pounds, 46 cents; over 2 to 10 pounds, 00 cents; and over 10 .pounds, 70 cats. All of these will be Increased by 10 cents each. The increase for this service is expected to yield about $2.5 mil lion In additional postal revenues, based on current special delivery volume. Money orders up to $5 and over $50 will be increased by 5 cents The new money order schedule will combine the present 15- and 20-cent fee brackets into one at 20 cots. It also splits the present 30-cent bracket at the $80 level, raising to 35 cents the fa for de nominations up to $100. These changes will affect over 100 million money order tranaac tions .Based on this volume, new would total about $6 million. Similar action was taken re cently to adjust postal rates for mail going to foreign countries. These actions are part at the poet office department’s program to place the postal service in a more favorable fiscal position, in accordance with the postal policy act of 196$. The postmaster general, J. Ed ward Day, ia also requesting tbs third class mail to eliminate the revenue deficiency gap of $741,- million. y J. H. Nabors Laurens — Joseph Hall Nabors, 71, of, 571 North Harper St., died at noon last Wednesday in a Co lumbia hospital after several weeks of declining health. A native of Laurens County, be was a son of the late Jama Law rence and Mary Flaming Nabors. He was engaged in the real estate business and was a member of Wayside Presbyterian Church. He was the last member of Ms Immediate family. Funeral services were conduct ed Friday at 11:00 a. m. at the Kennedy Mortuary by Rev. J. R. Morrow. Burial was in the Lau rens City cemetery.
