Staggs, of Laurens, spent the past week with their daughter and aunt. Mrs. Glenn Gaskins, and Mr. Gaskins. Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Ledford and children, Debra and Denise, of Gastonia. N. C., were week-end guests of Mrs. Ledford’s parents, Mr and Mrs. Earl Armstrong. On Sunday Mr. Armstrong’s pa rents Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Arm strong. of Gray Court, Rev. and Mrs R M. Morgan of Greenville, visited them. Mr. and Mrs. James Harris of Laurens, were Sunday visitors of Mrs Mattie Harvey, Mr. and Mrs A M. Shumate, Jr. M r and Mrs. Rudy Oskiochov- sky of Baldwin, N. Y„ are visit ing her father, S. J. Todd, and sister. Mrs. Homer Fuller, and Mr. Fuller; also another sister, Mrs Wylie Harper, and Mr. Har per in Greenwood, while they are in South Carolina. Miss Ann Marie Henry and Pat Henry of Charleston, are spend ing three weeks with their grand parents. Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Spradley. Rev. and Mrs. M. J. Sanders, Timmy and Allen Sanders spent the week-end with the Mr. San ders’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. N. J Sanders, in Palatka. Fla. On Sun day they attended the Sanders re union at Silver Lake near Palat ka Artie Joe and Timmy San- dres returned home with their parents after a visit with their grandparents. Terri and Susie Phipps of Un ion, spent last week with their grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. Her man Phipps. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Sauls and children of Goldsboro, N. C., were overnight guests of Rev. and Mrs. 1. N. Pierce on Tuesday of last week. Mrs. Jessie Hairston, Joe Hair ston and Miss Sandia Mills were recent week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. James in Wood ruff. Mrs. Eula Quinton and Miss Shirley Quinton visited their son and brother, Sgt. Wayne Quinton, and Mrs. Quinton in Savannah. Ga., Sunday. Miss Quinton re mained with her brother lor a longer visit. Friends will be sorry to know that Sgt. Quinton is in the base hospital due to a broken leg. Miss Peggy Grady returned home last week after spending a week in Atlanta, Ga., with Mr. and Mrs Ronald Henderson. Mr. and Mrs. Wilton Davis, Jr., and children of Greenwood, were Saturday evening guests of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Boozer. Guy Emery, Sr., of Enoree, vis ited Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Emery, Mr. and Mrs. Hor ace Emery. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Taylor and daughter, Sandy, of Joanna, were Sunday dinner guests of Mrs. Alma Harvey. In the after noon they all visited Mrs. Har vey’s daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Turner, in Greenwood. Eddie Abercrombie, SA, sta tioned at Norfolk, Va., and Russ Coffee, SA, of Illinois and Nor folk, spent the week-end with the former’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Abercrombie. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Carroll and family of Pendle- Pepsi ton. were Sunday overnight guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Abercrombie. Maxie Davis, son of Mr. and Mrs.'Lester Davis, is attending Boys' State at the University of South Carolina. Columbia, this week. Freddie Hanna is spending sev eral weeks with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. John son, in Woodruff. T/Sgt.L. A. Willard has left Shaw Air Force Base, Sumter, where he was stationed for some time, for a year of duty in Thule, Greenland. Mrs. Willard and three children are residing at the Claude Wilard’s while he is away. Miss Harriet Wilson and Ken neth Trammell accompanied the Clinton Mills Camp Fire group to Camp Buckhorn for the week as counselor and life guard, respec tively. Friends will be interested to know that Gary Sprouse, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben Sprouse, has joined the U. S. Navy and is now in San Diego, Calif, for his boot training. Lee Thornburg and Dan Bos well of Shannon. Ga., are visit ing their parents and grandpa rents. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Thom burg. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil McLendon and Miss Cecelia McLendon visit ed Mr. and Mrs W. A Wicks in Chester Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Ithiel Harvey and daughters, Toni and Kathy, visited Mrs. Harvey's mother, Mrs. L. A. Hall, and sister, Mrs Horace Gunter and Mr. Gunter in Newberry Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Jack White and daughters, Linda Faye and Mar tha Ann, and Miss Barbara White visited the former’s and latter’s brothers, Uoyd, Boyd, and Howard White, and families in Gaffney recently. Mrs. Evelyn Scruggs is ill at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ben Sprouse. PTA GIVES SAVINGS BOND Congratulations to Kathy Moore and Francis Cooper who were presented a $25 00 savings bond each for having the highest grades for the past four years at Providence School. The bonds were given by the Providence School Parent-Teach er Association. Several students were just a point or two under Kathy and Francis. BIRTHDAY DINNER FOR SON Mr. Mrs. R^nn>f» Pact and family honored their son, Barry, on his 6th birthday Sunday with a dinner at Chimney Rock, N. C. Enjoying the occasion with Barry and his parents were Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Pace, Mr. and Mrs. Billy Pace. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Maner. GO TO CAMP Monday morning the Lydia Lewa District of Camp Fire, Blue Bird and Horizon Girls will gather at the Lydia Community Building from where they will board the Clinton-Lydia Recrea tion bus for Camp Buckhorn on Paris Mountain for a week’s camping. A large number of girls are expected to attend along with ad ult leaders and senior life guards. BAPTIST CHURCH NEWS Today at 10:00 a. m. the recent ly organized morning circle of the Woman’s Missionary Society will meet in the social hall. Brotherhood Tonight The Brotherhood will go to the County Home for the regular monthly program. All men of the church are invited. The group is to meet at the church at 7:00.
