Joanna has two rained-out games to make up. this week. This means Joanna will be playing four games this week, thus catching up on the rained-out game before the last half starts this cbmlng Monday. Whitmire goes into second place, replacing the Exchange Club. Francis Cooper of the Ex change Club hit another home run last week and tops the list with three. Chandler of the Ki- wbnis Club, J. Willard of Whit mire, and B. Grady and G. Gra dy of the Exchange Chib, also hit home runs last week. PALMETTO LEAGUE The Whitmire Palmetto boys are up to their old tricks of win ning ball games. They have play ed three and won three. This is eighteen Straight, since they were undefeated last year, winning all fifteen regular scheduled games. Hampton Avenue is in second place, with two wins and no loss es. Hampton Avenue had a game rained out Friday of last week with Thornwell. They played this game the past Monday. This is the only Palmetto League game that has been rained out so far this season. The batting percentages for the Palmetto league will not be car ried until next week. The Small Fry League opened at 10:00 a. m., Monday, and the Beginners League opened yester day under the direction of Wttmot Shealy. This leagui will tneet each day five days a week from now on until the end of thp recre ation season except for (be week of July 4th. If enough boys come out, uniforms will be provided for this group. Francis Cooper of the Ex change Club took over first place in the batting averages, with a .600, replacing Phil Motes « the Lions dub. Jerry Chandler of the Kiwanis Club, Dayid. Grady Of the Exchange Club, and, Joe, Chandler of Joanna, are tied for second place, with an average of .900. The tennis program will start Monday. June .8. at 8:00 a. m, Coach Ed Cavines* wants hll the boys to come on Monday, June .5, and the girls to eome on Tues day, June 6, at SiOO. About U8 boys and girls signed np for the tennis program and more are ex pected to Join in the program.
