CHizeos To Visit Slate Hospital “Operation Friendship” gets underway again this year as part of the program of Mental Health Week. Public tours of the state hos pital will be held continuously from 0:30 a. m. to 3:30 p. m. on those days. As a new tour will begin as a small* group is assem bled, visitors may arrive at any time between these hours. Each tour will last about two hours, and will include exhibits of the various hospital departments, an opportunity for questions to be answered by hospital staff mem bers, and a coffee pick-up. Hos pital departments will be open for those wishing to visit any partic ular one. High school seniors and college students are especially invited to visit the hospital and make one of these tours, because of this year’s emphasis on Mental Health Ca reers. These tours are not recom mended for those below the sen ior year in high school, however. W. C. Baldwin, co-chairman of Mental Health Week in the city, has contacted many of the clubs and organizations in the com munity urging them to send at least one carload to take the tour. A sound approach to the prob lems of mental health can be made as the citizens become fa miliar with the state hospital and aware of the needs at that and other mental facilities of the state. Anyone interested in taking the tour of the state hospital who has not been contacted through their club or organization should contact Mrs. John Rivers, Phone 833-2233, for further information.
