Cox were in Spartanburg during the week to visit Miss Eloise Miller who has been a patient at the General Hospital for several weeks fol lowing an automobile accident. Friends of Miss Miller will be glad to know she is improving. Dr. Kelly Dixon has returned to Birmingham, Ala., where he is associated with the Univer sity. Hughes and Mr. Hughes. VISITS BROTHER Mrs. Pringle Copeland was the guest a few days last week of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Clayton in Raleigh, N. C. f and attended the Southeastern Flower and Garden Show. Miss Elaine Addison, a senior at Duke University, Durham, N. C., spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John A. Addison. TO DAYTONA Charles Pitts, Frank Pitts and Ray SUgh were in Daytona, Fla., the past week to attend the races. Mrs. Ansel B. Godfrey was the guest of Rev. and Mrs. J. M. Dick in Raleigh, N. C., a few days last week and attended the Southeastern Flower and Gar den Show. While there she also visited her sister-in-law, Mrs. C. M. As bill. Mrs. B. D. Former Resident Fosses In Greenwood James Benjamin McCombs, 51, of HIS West Cambridge Ave., Greenwood, died Thursday in a Greenwood hospital after several weeks of illness. He was born in Greenwood, a son of Mrs. Dora Oulla O. Steer, of this city, and the late Benja min McCombs. He had lived in Clinton prior to moving to Green wood for five years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Surviving in addition to his mother tow his wife, Mrs. Atone Bond McCombs; two ‘sisters, Mrs. Andy Anderson of Holly wood, Fla. .and Mrs. Robert Rice of Concord, N. C.; and a half- brother, Walter Barksdale. Funeral services were conduct ed at Blyth Funeral Home Fri day afternoon by Rev. James A. Bowers and Rev. J. H. Darr. Burial was in Edgewood ceme tery. Pallbearers were D. B. Bailey, Sgt. Nance Thomas, Calvin Mc Combs, Charlie Dukes, John Staf ford, Erskine Crawford, Frank Hahn, W. C. Balcmin, and Jim my Segars.
