WEDDING OF INTEREST Mr. and Mrs. James Deitz were married January 2 at the Lydia Baptist Church by Rev. Milford J. Sanders. Mrs. Dietz is the former Miss Lucile Spelce, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Haul Spelce of Clinton. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Dietz, also of Clinton The young couple is residing on Woodrow street" in Clinton. BIRTHDAY PARTY AT KINDERGARTEN The Lydia-Clinton Kindergarten children enjoyed a birthday party for James Price on Friday mor- ning. The usual Kindergarten activities with extra songs and games were enjoyed. The lovely birthday cake was cut and served with ice cream, to the children. Miss Teresa Worthy underwent an appendix operation on Monday in the Newberry County hospital. She was visiting in Newberry when she became ill. Friends are glad, to know that Mrs. James W. Campbell is recup erating at her home following an ill ness at Self Memorial Hospital, Greenwood. W’aters King of Nashville, Tenn., son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry King, has been seriously ill. C. M. MISS WILSON GIVEN SURPRLSE PARTY On Saturday evening Miss Har riett Wilson was surprised with a birthday party in celebration of her 16th birthday at Smith’s Ranch, with her mother, Mrs. Virginia Wil son, as hostess. Around twenty guests enjoyed the evening, with party food and fun. The honoree was remembered with gifts from her friends. \ COMMITTEE MEETS The executive committee of the Lydia Woman's Chib met last Thursday evening to plan the year’s , , Enlisting new members, sponsor ing Camp Fire and Blue Birds, per forming worthwhile services in the community and striving for a more beautiful village are the club’s aims. . * Many interesting things have been planned for the year.
