WEEK-END AT JOANNA Clayton Edmonds spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rowe in Joanna. Mr. and Mrs. Arzo Ivester, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Turner attended the funeral of Mhs. Bearden at Friendship Baptist Church near Spartanburg recently. She was the mother of Mrs Lewis Yarborough of Enoree, who is employed here and has many friends here. After the singing of the club song Mrs. Eva West read the “TTianksgiving Psalm” and gave a o m e interesting comments on Thanksgiving. Mrs. Gus Blakely led the group in prayer. During the business, session the club voted to help a needy famUy with a Thanksgiving shower. Ail items for the shower should be in afternoon. The club also voted to the Community house by Wednesday have the Christmas dinner at Epps’ in Greenville on Friday, Dec. 112. Anyone wishing any information on the dinner please call 863-J. Beautiful flower arrangements of wood fibers were brought to the club by Mrs. Clyde Madden, Mrs Alice Lowe, and Mrs. ODeU Free man. A demonstration was given on the making of flowers by Mrs. Lowe, assisted by Mrs. Madden and Mrs. Freeman. Four visitors and one new mem. 1 her were introduced to the club. The new member was Mrs. W. WaUenzine has been Ul at her home on Pitts street. Jessie Harmon is improving after a recent iU. He has returned home from Self Memorial hospital in Greenwood to Johnston. He has rela tive sand many friends here. BLUE BIRDS MEET The Tulip and Rose groups of Blue Birds met at the Community House on Wednesday afternoon at 3 o’clock. A business session was held by their leaders. The work hour included the start ing of Christmas gifts to be made for mother of each member. Re freshments were served, with Kathy Gentry giving thanks. Then each Uttle member was dismissed for home. • • • The Busy Bee group along with the leader met at 5:00 p. m. NOTICE FOR PAYMENT OF 1958 CITY TAXES Notice is hereby griven that Town Taxes for the Town of Clinton are due and collectable from November 1st to December 31st for the year 1958. The tax books will open November 1 at the office of the Town Clerk and Treasurer and will remain open up to and through December 31. A penalty of ten per cent (10%) shall be added if said taxes are not paid on or before January 1, 1959.
