Miss Florence Ella Blakely has returned to Durham, N. C., after a ten day visit with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Blakely. Also here for the week-end were Mr. and Mrs. H. R. McLeod, their daughter and son, of McBee. Mr. and Mrs Gus Smith, of Greenville, were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gasque at their cottage on Lake Greenwood. Miss Bessie Jones had as her guests for the holiday week-end Mrs. James T. Buchanan and her daugh ter. Nancy, of Sanford, N. C. Mrs. Fuller L. Reese and son, Bob, spent last week in Apex, N. C., with M!r. Reese. This week the Reeses and their two sons, Buck and Bob are vacationing at a cottage on Santee-Cooper. Dr. and Mrs. Lollis M. Hardy and children, Susie and Frankie Felk- nor, of Camden, spent the week-end with Mrs. Hardy’s mother, Mrs. Frank Miller. Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Dalrymple and children, of Charlotte, N. C., were guests during othe holidays of Mr and Mrs. D. B. Smith. • Mr. and Mrs. Chris A. Walker, of Sanford, N. C.. were week-end guests of Mr and Mrs. Arthur M Greenwood Mr. and Mrs. Julian M Bell and children moved this week to Mon roe. N. C., where he has been trans ferred as Seaboard agent Mrs. Charles Henry Bond left Sat urday to join Mr. Bond who is sta Loned at the Great Lakes Naval Training Station and they will re side at Waukegan. Mrs. W. W. Harris and her daugh ter, Miss Corndia Harris, of Co lumbia, spent the week-end holidays at Myrtle Beach. Mr. and Mrs. Don Copeland, Jr., have returned from their wedding trip and are -residing in an apart ment at 405 Calvert Avenue. Sgt. and Mrs. B. D. Doenhoefer, of Washington, D. C., were recent guests of the latter’s aunts, Miss Thelma Wells and sisters. Mr. and Mrs. L. 0. Edwards and children were guests last week of relatives in Goldsboro and Greens boro, N. C. Mr. and Mrs; Walter Rutledge, Mrs. B. E. Godfrey, of Greenville, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Godfrey and Mrs. Mabel Hawkins, of Columbia, were guests Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. Ansel B. Godfrey. Also guests of the Godfreys were Mr. and Mrs. John C. Henry, of Greenville, who came for the funeral of the former’s sis ter, Mrs. J. Hamp Holland. Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Caskey of Steubenville, Ohio, left Tuesday aft er a week’s visit with Mrs. Caskey’s brother, Dr. Marshall W. Brown and Mrs. Brown. They will visit in Nashville, Tenn., and Georgetown, iKy., before returning home. Mr. and Mrs. John M. Roseboro were guests a few days last week of the former’s sister, Mrs. Eric Medlin and Mr. Medlin at Blaney. They spent the remainder of the week with Mrs. Roseboro's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs Everette Carson, of Gastonia, N. C., at their lake cottage on Catawbe River. Mass., arc guests for several weeks of the former' s brother and sister-in-law.’ Mr and Mrs. F. E. Robbins Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Jones, of Blacksburg, spent Friday with their daughter, Mrs. Milford Smith and Mr. Smith. Their granddaughter, Gail Smith, returned home with them for a two week’s visit. Mrs. David S. Cook, Terrell Cook and Julia Gray left this week for a trip to Maine. Enroute they will spend several days in Washington. D. C„ and will attend the meeting of Polly Parsons in Wellsley, Mass. Later they will spend some time with friends at Saco, Maine, and at the Parsons cottage on the coast, returning to Clinton about July 30. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Prevatte have taken an apartment in the Hays apartments on Woodrow Street. Mr Prevatte is manager of radio sta tion WPCC. Mrs. Harry F. Lowman, Jr., and children will leave tomorrow for a three weeks stay with Major Low- man at Fort Bening, Ga., where he is attending summer camp. Mrs. E. L. Holland spent Monday in Columbia with her daughter, Mrs. James T. Smith, and family. She was accompanied home for a two weeks visit by her grandsons, Ronnie and Michael Smith. Mr. and Mrs. W. L. McNeill have as their guests for a few days Mr. and Mrs. Milton Bell and children of Sanford, Fla. L. Ray Pitts and J. M. Hatton of the Prather-Simpson Furniture Co., spent several days this week in High Point, N. C., attending the Southeastern Furniture and Rug Market. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Dixon and fam ily spent several days last week at Cherokee and other place^pf inter est in the mountains of North Caro lina. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Anderson will spend the week-end in Rome, Ga., with the former’s daughter. Mrs. George Everette and Mr. Ever ette. They will fly from Atlanta on July 15 to spend ten days in Aus tin, Texas, with Mr. Anderson's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. James L. Anderson Mr. and Mrs Sam Marse and daughters. Pace Dies At Gray Court Fountain Inn—Dr William Tho mas Pare, 68, prominent physician of Gray Court, died suddenly at hu home at 10:00 p. m , Sunday, after 118 months of declining health Dr. Pace was born in Hodges and assumed his practice in Gray Court in 1917. He was to Mason, former member of the towm council, a member of the Laurens County Medical Siflflfcty, South' Carolina Medcial Society and was chief of staff at the Laurens County Hos pital for the past 12 years. He was a graduate of the Medical College of South Carolina and was a mem ber of the board of Gray Court Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs Lula Haithcock Pace; his step-mother, Mrs. Nancy Pace of Sumter; one son, Jack Pace of Gray Court; one brother, A. S. Pace of Sumter; one half-brother, Sam Pace of Sum ter; three sisters, Mrs. Mackey Kirkley of Sumter; Mrs. George Conniffee of Columbia; and Mrs. K P. Horne of Lake View; two half-sisters, Mrs. John Sears of Sumter; and Mrs. Bill Mosley of Camden; and two grandchildren > He was a son of Thomas William and Rebecca Stevenson Pace. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p m at the Gray Court Methodist Church by the | Rev.
