Greeting guests were Miss Inez • Tucker and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Sowers. The Lake House was beau tifully decorated with summer cut flowers featuring arrangements of Queen Anne’s lace, magnolias, dai sies, and roses. The bride’s table was covered with a lace cloth centered with the ■ three-tiered wedding cake decorat ed with pink roses and wedding bells. The color scheme of pink and white was carried out in the can dles and mints. At the other end of the room Mrs. John Dowdle presided over the crystal punch bowl centered with magnolia blossoms and leaves. Miss Nancy Ann White as sisted in registering the guests, in cluding members of the wedding party and out of town guests. Columbia Entertain at Supper For Wedding Party After Rehearsal A lovely supper party was given on Saturday evening at the Mary Musgrove Hotel following the re hearsal for the Edwins-Anderson wedding. An aunt of the bride. Mrs. Kenneth Piercy, and Mr. Piercy, of Chesnee, and an uncle of the bride, Earl McElhannon and Mrs. McEl- hannon of this city, were hosts and hostesses to the wedding party, out of town guests and families. Throughout the ballroom where the buffet meal was served, were varied arrangements of summer flowers. A mixed bouquet in pastel tints adorned the supper table. Miss Edwins Feted With Shower Friday On Friday evening Miss Peggy Ann Edwins was complimented when members of her Sunday School class at the First Baptist Church and other friends enter tained for her with a miscella neous shwoer at the home of Mrs. 'Rembert S. Truluck, class teacher. Several games and contests were enjoyed by the young group be fore the presentation of the gifts. Refreshments of punch, sandwich es, cookies and other party dain ties were served on the patio. Abelia, lilies, larkspur and hol lyhocks were used to effect a bri dal green and white setting for the party. After July 1 the couple will live at 2397 Williams Lane, Apt De catur, Ga. Mrs. Holcomb received a $.A. de gree from Agnes Scott College in Decatur; she works at Emory Uni versity. The groom holds a B A. degree from Emory University in Atlanta, and is a junior in the uni versity’s school of medicine. Attending the wedding from Clin ton were Dr. and Mrs. D. 0. Church Rites Unite Miss Edwins and Mr. Anderson, Jr. In a double ring ceremony so lemnized Sunday afternoon, June 22, at 4 o'clock at the First Baptist Church, Miss Peggy Ann Edwins, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Elliotte Clarence Edwins, became the bride of James Ernest Anderson, Jr., son of James Ernest Anderson and the late Mrs. Ardelle Pickett Anderson. Rev. J. H. Darr performed the ceremony.' Mr. Edwins gave his daughter in marriage, and Mr An derson served as best man for his son. Gladioli, carnations, candles, and ivy formed a background for the service, and the vows were spoken before an arch entwined with ivy and gladioli. Ushers included Earl McElhaa- non, uncle of the bride, William Hatton, brother-in-law of the groom. Edd Roberts, and Lawrence Young, all of this city. Richard Edwins, brother of the bride, served as ring bearer. Mitchell Jeffery Waters Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Evanston Dr. Fish was formerly on the faculty of Presbyterian College and they made their home here several years. After July 1 the couple will live at Camp Lejeune, N. C. The bride’s schools include Wells College in Aurora, N Y, and Northwestern University at Evans ton; she is a Kappa Kappa Gamma alumna member. June 22, when Miss Sara Margaret Winburn of Patrick, became the bride of Ro bert W. Westmoreland of Clinton. Dr. Malcolm A. The groom attended Clemson college for two years and served six months in the army. He is now em ployed at the J. E. Anderson Ho siery Co. The bride was graduated from Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk N. C., and is presently employed as secretary at Indian Head Cor poration at Cheraw. Mrs. West moreland is the daughter of Mrs. William Edward Winburn and the late Mr. Winburn of Patrick.
