All girls are asked to bring one of their parents with them so all details can be worked out. The new Pony League field, which is located on the Jr. High playground, will be ready for use when the Pony League opens there this afternoon. A new backstop is being built and the field is being put into good shape for the opener between Lydia and Florida Street. Tomorrow will see a pony double- header, with Thornwell meeting Academy and Whitmire playing Joanna. Bell Street. The park will be the same size as the present Little Boys park on the college campus. The Little Boys League managed to play several games the past week, although several games were rained out. There are still four games to be played in the near future that have been rained out. The Little Boys schedule for this week will be as follows: Monday, 5:30 p m — Joanna plays Moose. Tuesday, 4 p. m. — Joanna vs Whitmire; 5:30 p. m.—Lions vs. Kiwanis. Wednesday, 4 p* m—Exchange vs. Whitmire. 5:30 p. m—Lions vs. Joanna. Thursday. 4 p. m —Whitmire vs. Moose, 5:30 p m.—Exchange vs. Lions. Friday night. 6 30 p m — Ki wanis vs. Moose; 8pm —Whit mire vs. Joanna the sew league we plan to start just as soon as school Is out. Last Monday, at 4 p. m., the Ki wanis Club won their third straight game of the season from the Ex change Club, 7-0. Bobby Watts and Richard Cash of the Kiwanis Club teamed up to pitch a no-hitter. This is the second no-hitter for the Kiwanis Club this season. Last Monday, at 5:30 p. m., the Lions Club defeated the Moose Club, 3-1. Although the Moose Club got the most hits, Holcombe of the Lions was the winning pitcher. Last Tuesday s and Wednesday's games were rained out. Thursday, at 4 p. m., the Ki wanis Club defeated Joanna 10-0. Bobby Watts and Richard Cash of the Kiwanis combined pitching duties to let Joanna doWn with one hit. At 5:30 p. m. Thursday, the Lions Club defeated the Exchange Club, 15-4. David Templeton pitched for the Lions. Last Friday, in the first game, | the Lions Club defeated Whitmire, 3-2, in a close and exciting game. Graham, Whitmire’s centerfielder, hit a home run over the scoreboard with one runher on base. The Lions finally won the game in the last inning Scooter Holcombe was the winning Lion pitcher. In the second game Friday eve ning the Moose Gub defeated the Exchange Club, 6-1. Tony McGee) iof the Moose Club was the winning pitcher McLendon, first baseman for the Exchange Gub, hit his first home run of the season in this game. Tuesday afternoon will find the undefeated Kiwanis and Lions teams meeting for the first time this season. C. M. CMprr F Laurens — dark Marion Cooper, 78. of Rt. 3. Laurens, died early Sunday morning in a Laurens hos pital following a one month's ill ness. Mr. - Cooper was a native of Hallmans Leave For Slay In France Sgt. and Mrs. C. W Hallman and daughter, Miss Kitty Lu Hallman, formerly of Killeen, Texas, spent a few days last week with Mrs. Hallman's brother,\B M Dutton, and Mrs Dutton. They were en- route to McGuire Field. N.
