The sermon was followed by the celebration of the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper, administered by Dr A. F. Tinkler, of Greenwood,' and teh Rev. \V M. Blakely./of Louisville, Ga. The new moderator, the Rev. James P Stephenson, of Wrens, Ga , presided over the remainder of the meeting. Conducting a devotional program on Wednesday morning was the Rev. W M Hay, of Augusta, Ga ALso on Wednesday morning, a con ference on spiritual life was presided over by Dr James P. Pressly. of Due West. Mr. Sloan was a member of the discussion panel and spoke on "What the Men's Organization Con Do To Pro mote the Spiritual Life Program.” A trial sermon by ( Earl Jackson, a student at Erskirie Theological Seminary, was given; and the ses sion's doctrinal sermon was deliv ered by Dr D. Laurens Ministers Score Gambling' Laurens, October 10 — The Lau rens Ministerial Association has called for enforcement of gambling privileged children as its project for the month of December. A list of names of children is to be secured, and th«e children will be taken to the stores in groups by the Jaycee members. The third victim, Ralph Sullivan, was wounded slightly in the hand. Sheriff’s deputies said John Hen ry Jones, 40 of Owings Station, is being held in connection with the shooting, which occurred between 8 p. m. and 9 p. m. at the home of Fred Spurgeon in the Owings com munity. A .32 caliber automatic, believed to be the death weapon, was found at the Spurgeon home. It contained three rounds, four rounds having been expended. Deputies said five or six witnesses to the shooting made statemenjts Sunday, but as yet, a motive.for^Ane shooting has not been established.
