LOUIS MOORE STEPHENS MISS LILLIAN SALTERS DILLARD IS BRIDE OF LOUIS MOORE STEPHENS Beautiful in its simplicity was the marriage of Mi-ss Lillian Salters Dillard to Louis Moore Stephens which was solemnized Saturday af ternoon at 4:30 at tht home of the bride with only the immediate fam ilies present. 1 The lower floor was decorated with palms and flowers, and thfe candlelight cerepionv rpom was lovely with arrangements of varied white flowers and greenery. At an improvised altar the double ring ceremony was performed by Dr. John McSween. The bride's full-length gown of white duchess satin was fashioned on empire lines with reembroider ed Alencon lace at the bodice, which dent body, May Queen, a member of Who’s Who and Sophiades, hon orary scholastic society. , The groom is the son of Mrs. John Reuben Stephens, of Canton, N. C., and the late Mr. Stephens He re ceived his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Clemson College and has served three years in the Army. While at Clemson he was Cadet Colonel and*'a" member of Wtnrt Who, Blue Key, Scabbard and Blade, and Tiger Brotherhood He is a student at the Medical College of South Carolina, where he is a mem ber of Phi Rho medical fraternity. After Sept. 1 the couple will be at home at 106-C Bull St. in Charles ton. Fetes Mrs. Stevenson With Bridge Party Honoring Mrs. John W. Stevenson, who leaves to make her home m Jackson. 'Miss., Mrs. Newton B. Jones was hostess for a bridge •party on Friday afternoon at her I home on Elm street. Roses and asters in pastel tints made a pretty background for the tables arranged in the receiving rooms. A travel theme was carried out with “globe” tallies, and score prizes and gifts being wrapped iri “road map” paper. Awards went to Mrs. Bailed Dixon (or high score and Mrs. Frank Sherrill for second high. The honoree was presented with a going-away gift, and Mrs. Marvin Greene, who is visiting the hostess, with a guest prize. Later in the afternoon a salad plate was served. Miss Young Weds Mr. Reed in Rites In Church Chapel Miss Maudalene Sullivan Young and Archie Chevis Reed, Jr., of Winnsboro, were united in marriage on Saturday, August 17, in th< New Memorial Chapel of the First Pres byterian Church at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, with close relatives and intimate friends attending. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Leland Young, of this city, and the groom is the son of Mr and Mrs. Reed, of Winnsboro. Dr. D. J. Woods, former pastor, performed the double ring cere mony. The bride, given in mar riage by her father, was attended by her sister, Miss Leanna Young, as maid of honor.
